I can't start a poll first and then ignore it's results. As you can see in the results, even though it was close, Tornado is only in the sixth place and therefor not in the pool for this cup. It might be if we go for a seven map pool but I think a pool with five maps and pick pick is better than a pool with seven and drop drop pick pick.

I agree 5 maps is better than 7 maps, but why would 7 maps need to be drop-drop-pick-pick? You could still do pick-pick.

Generally true, only reason could be that seven maps are a great many and when a team can not at least drop one map it means they have to master them all.
If you have five maps and pick pick, you see the good matches on the teams' best maps and no one can complain there would be too many maps to learn and maintain in praccies.

Yeah I'd rather just see 5 map pools for those reasons, and the maps can always be changed every few months for different events to keep things interesting, rather than fall back on just having 7 maps.

Dies Irae was the map with the fewest votes by far. I considered taking in Tornado instead of Deep Inside because the difference was only five percent or so, but I decided against it -- again, I can't ask for the community's opinion and then ignore the results and take what I find would be the best pool. If I put Dies Irae into the pool now, I would completely ignore the results of that poll.

Tornado has big spawn problems imo so it's for the better. After playing quite a few times, I started to hate that map because of the spawns.

Dies Irae is a no brainer, the map isn't good.

"We"? I had an entire season, and it was a pain to even get like two-dozen players. I had to beg players to join events.

If its only two divisions, division 2 is going to have a very big skill gap between top and bottom.. and I've noticed in QL people don't sign up so much if it means going out in round 1 to a better team!

We already decided to change it from a 16 teams tree to a 8 teams tree in the summer cups which i think is a good idea. The rest comes down to how many teams sign up. We have to draw the line somewhere between divisions and we make trees within a div random this time, which means the lowest ranked teams will not meet the highest ranked ones.
If enough teams sign up, we might as well have three divisions. Or maybe have three divisions but the premier division consists of only the 4 top teams in Europe and they play double elimination. We will see...

Whatever you think about it, people don't sign up for fun cups to be put against best players in first round every time :) We want to participate in a competition. Being spawnraped for 20 minutes is not competing ;)

Of course huge losses still did happen, but what can you do with this number of signups right? Randomization means any team can meet any team and you're not guaranteed to get demolished in round 1. If it happens - better luck next time, I'll enter again next time to try!

That scoreline would suggest a div4/5 team was up against someone in EC/div1 which doesn't happen.

Division 2 has so far consisted of everyone not EC/div1 ability, a div2 team might give you a bit of a beating if you are from div5 but it would be nothing like that scoreline and likewise most teams from div3/4 should be able to keep a respectable score against most teams in 2 imo.
