GS: What can you tell us about the game's multiplayer?

MS: There is none! Seriously, you can gather achievements and level scores and compare them to your friends--that's all. Why? Because nowadays there are just too many games focused only on multiplayer. We had to choose whether we wanted to put all our efforts into creating the best single-player experience or add a multiplayer mode just to fill the check box and still get it done worse than in other games focused on multiplayer modes.

like which doom, quake or painkiller player played these games because of SP? ok maybe doom...

??? quake was a SP game wich turned out to be a great mp game too , and most of the people played painkiller in SP

yeah without MP both would have been remembered for 3 months at the top... just as long this one will be

so who played quake 1 SP after a few years max tell me? and for the legend status yes it was the first 3d game this is why + mp.

people still play quake1 sp, eg. take a look at the speedrun community, i never realized there was doom mp until a few years ago and i don't think i'm alone there.

painkiller was probably the best rehash of the old doom/quake concept of "unrealistic high speed lots of action fps", which worked much better than in sp than in mp (imo) :p

My dream of mainstream fast paced fps was revived for about 10 seconds.

Just played it and thought it was ok. Maybe will get it sometime at some special sale ;)
