If you're going for a 3 button there really is no reason not to use a WMO.

If you want 5 button mouse there really is no reason to use IME3.0?

It has 1000 dpi. I think it uses the same sensor as the "Microsoft Comfort Mouse 4500". There have been reports that the "Comfort Mouse 4500" only tracks up to 1.3m/s and the polling rate is not adjustable therefore it is stuck at 125hz. It weighs about 114 grams, but I'm not sure if that is including the cord.

They also released a lightweight 3 button mouse variant "Microsoft Comfort Mouse 3000". Like the "Comfort Mouse 6000", it also has 1000dpi. It weighs about 92 grams, but I'm not sure if that is including the cord.

so you can't force polling rate (usb hz) with other programs? No chance to make it 500 hz?

I bought the sidewinder x8 when it came out.

The blue track thing is nice for impressing your friends (the thing can even track on dirty carpet or sofa hand-rest) but on a mouse pad it is no better or worse than your typical optical, actually I now use mx518 instead.

Material looks better than the current 3.0's.

i was considering it but would rather ask first to possibly save a trip to fry's or best buy and then having to return it if it's a piece of shit which it most likely is

Pretty much exactly the same dimensions as the I.E 3.0 in terms of length/width/height.

Ok so thoughts :

Build:

The build is very good. The materials feel very solid, and it has no glossy parts like the DA where your hand gets all moist. The buttons feel good, but the mouse1 and mouse2 make a lot of noise, that might be a problem for people wearing non closed headphones. The wheel is very good, way superior to IME, it is resistant yet sensitive. So a very good note on that. I was also surprised by the quality of the feet, which despite having a weird shape (can't get a replacement, if you want to use teflon feet you'll have to remove those and have very thick ones), glide very well on goliathus speed and qck+.

Shape:

The shape is fine is you palm your mouse. Very similar to DA/IME, and the side buttons are well placed I think, not to close from where you rest your thumb, but very accessible. I think the shape is excellent, even better than DA/IME.

Sensor:

That's where the bad part begins. It seems to have quite high LOD (I'd say around 2mms). It tracks well though, as enotus returned 99% precision and smoothness. There seems to be prediction, less compared to other mice but still. It's 1000dpi and not customizable.

Last but not least, you definitely CANT override the 125hz polling rate with hidusbf. This is a major let down, I have tried numerous ways and I feel it is capped at 125hz.

So the major upsides are shape and build, and decent tracking. LOD and polling rate are bad, and I guess (not able to measure it though) that the malfunction speed is pretty low.

As for me I will try playing with it for a while despite the capped 125hz, as I like the shape, but if I feel any difference from polling rate, I'll defo switch back to wmo.

EDIT: just played 2 games with it and i won't be doing it again. Guess I forgot how bad 125hz feels. The tracking was alright but gosh that felt so laggy. Moreover, the mouse3 button (on which I bound my rail), feels so unresponsive compared to every other mice ever. It takes me half a second to switch. I made a video to show you compared to wmo :

So definitely not recommanded if you use mouse3 (which I guess is everyone) and don't like 125hz (which should be everyone). Not a gaming mouse.

As far as that MS6000 mouse goes. We already knew that it wont overclock polling rate more than 125hz..
Well its not gaming mouse and that is why they capped polling rate 125hz so lame by Miscrosoft. I bought Ms and Razer mice in past and disappointed so I will never buy them again.

Might be it is just dirt, but I think that the things you consider dirt are traces from sanding down the overlay of those mice.

Exactly what vib said, i sandpaperize(?) all my mice because I tend to have sweaty hands.

I assume there's no positive accel because you haven't mentioned it. Positive accel occurs fast from what you've said, but can you measure how fast - what the sensor's really capable of?

How's the prediction (not that I personally care about prediction) in comparison to the DA?

Oh and by the way, a LOD of 2 mm is really small. Also, it depends on the mousepad. Just lay the mouse on some CDs until it stops tracking and tell us what the LOD is for each of your mousepads.

Also, glides aren't really a problem. I could just use some MX5xx mouse feet for that purpose.

No positive acceleration in game but I use high sens, so I don't move my mouse very fast, can't measure it sorry. Prediction less than on DA. The LOD felt higher than WMO that's why I said that it's high, but I guess it's low enough. Didn't notice it ingame.

Edit : nope, I've just dug a gigantic hole in the mouse but there only void under it. This mouse fails at frankemicing even

Hmm some times screws are covered under rubber cap or paper.
You probably need to destroy that too :D

Maybe the screws are under the top bit of plastic (buttons etc) bit which you can prise off.

the screws are under the mouse skates, but they are some sort of special screw that i do not know how to open.

i would pay up to 150$ if someone could put a ie 3.0 sensor into this shell.
