The joystick is horrible and shows signs of incredible wear after mere months. Of the four controllers I have, three have serious issues, the joystick no longer centers at all and just limps to the right.

The d-pad isn't even in usable reach, god help you if a game requires you to use that thing on the fly.

So you're left with the Z button and A B, using the C-pad requires you to reposition your thumb completely, and even then, it's just another shitty d-pad, even worse than a d-pad because instead of being a conventional one button beast, it's four small ones.

Not to mention the fucking rumble pad weighing 9 tonnes and sticking out like a goiter.

So what? The 'shitty d-pad' was only really used for strafing and/or special functions. A and B aren't that much of a reach... Four small precise buttons are better then one chunk of tilting plastic (at least in my opinion)

Its pretty widely agreed fact that the durability of the analog stick is bollocks. Another prob is that its sorta rough on your thumb. When designing Goldeneye, Jamerio got the control scheme right though, its one of the fun:nest fpses on any platform.

I was a tester on GE, worked on design on sequel. I was only 18. Was more of a KI pro TBH. Can't really take credit for the controls. Besides, its a team effort. If the game was bad the controls would not have been appreciated.

Amazing game though, despite getting better reviews I would trade my involvment in perfect dark for a bigger role in GE any day of the week. But not the money :)

N64 was nice for its time but it completely sucks now.

No way, the roms are still awesome. You can crank up the resolution to HD quality, and most of the graphics are still badass. Using a keyboard doesn't work well for all the games, but things like Mario Kart and Mario Tennis are perfectly good.

I don't know if emulators would allow you to use things like xbox controllers, but if so, even things like Goldeneye would still be good. If you could a mouse and keyboard, plus net support, it could be great playing something like Goldeneye.
