What are you talking about? Hektik is the most entertaining map to watch. Unless you want quake to die as an esport you should want fast entertaining maps like hektik in the map pool. I personally think it's about time dm13 is removed, it's the most boring map in the map pool atm, dismemberment is a close second.

hektik
concrete palace / toxicity

ztn and aero are not only q3 classic, but quake classics. they shall stay forever.
havent played concrete palace or toxicity but the reactions here on esr seem quite good for both of them. maybe the can both be taken in instead of hektik, which seems quite random in its current state.

Do not compare these 2 maps. The one is probably the best map right now (toxicity) and the other the shitiest map ever (concrete palace). If you don't beleive me, just load concrete and see for yourself.

what i meant with ztn and aero is that they are played in more than one quake game (q3/ql and qw), hence they are not only q3 classics.

what i said about concrete and toxicity is purely based on what i read here, never even seen a pic of either map (didnt have internet the last 3 weeks). but many people who played it seem to like concrete.

dm13 concrete? I'm sorry but concrete palace is a series of hallways leading into more hallways that lead into hallways.

Zero open spaces that could offer an interesting fight, it's a +b paradise and shit is way to small, it just seems like a bad map overall. I'd go with dm13 over concrete palace any day.

BF had it's chance and proved to be a mediocre map at best. Even now that it's changed it's far worse than let's say toxicity.
Personal opinion.

Just irrelevant. Put concrete palace in a tournament setting and have the pros at aim/movement/strategy battle it out on the map with a stream so specs can decide if it is +back shit or exciting and interesting.

I don't understand why Zotac admins are so passive about map pool issue. Zotac is perfect cup to test various new maps in competitive environment, yet all Zotac's wussy admins can do is blindly copy QuakeCon moronic mappool decisions or ESL.
Admins! It's your fucking cup. Do some work please, don't just sit there as if there's nothing needs to be done.

I think they could make some changes in the way they choose maps, like for example one weekend ztn only, another weekend new maps only, then eswc2003 reloaded (old t4-dm6-ztn combo), then randomise maps from the maplist per match and per tourney, etc
unless zotac cup is pro players only who does play the same maps in anticipation for the big events
even so they could one sunday standard mappool, next sunday smth different, and next sunday standard mappool again

might try autoaction 1 but then again you wrote "usually doesn't fail" so it does not seem bulletproof either and you will have to make the screenshot manually...

Yeah, thats a fair point.

Perhaps for worry of mass inconvenience, for example, every single player who played strenx requesting each demo throughout the tourney. Could get tedious imo.

All depends on the referee's judgement.

Would be nice to just have an online deposit box were all participants have to post there demos from the tourney :)

absolutely nothing; he just ragequitted after some low stack all out attacks near the end of the game. He was out controlled, and was only keeping himself in the game by constantly hitting some near-bullshit shots. It was a nice watch though, as it was very close :) Should say gg at least :(

k1llsen is warping. You can't hit fuckers that warp, since you need to see their movement to track them properly with lg. Also since the update people don't need to be in that small angle zone to lg 40% now and to lock lg. They can strafe all around your ass and keep the lg sticky since the angles are wider now.

This hurts strenx a lot now. Since his sens is fucking low he can't keep track of them when they go behind him and use nice jukes to dodge his lg. But they can keep their lg sticky on him, so hes fucked.

btw a suggestion to id, cause the initial spawn is what decides games if people are very close skillwise.

1.

People can be able to choose where they spawn in a map, after they die.
This would make another factor in the decision making, like i sacrifice myself at red, so i can spawn at mega and u get nothing.

2.

First spawn of the map could be.
If the map is of Guy A.
Guy B picks spawn for that map and Guy A picks one of the remaining spawns for that map.
If the map was a result of eliminating maps, then play the map twice and pretend Guy A picked it once and Guy B picked it in second time, sum scores.

For the record, i was playing in Zotac last weekend so i could have streamed/commentated with Level Up TV after i lost. Unfortunately my 4870x2 graphics card died during the first match, and now i won't be able to do anything for 5-6 weeks whilst i budget for a new card to go with my i7 system. Since XFX are very mean people and won't replace it due to their terrible laws for UK/EU warranty, i have to buy a new one.

Sorry, i promise to do some when i get back!
