Although tbh they are ruining him. He's like in 5 different comics now. Was best when it was only deadpool, or when he's tormenting the x-men. (I fucking hell they let him join x-force, stupid)
the main mechanic is chain combos which are very easy (no timing required, every attack cancels into the next).
this system is called "magic series" and you can string attacks in strength order: Light -> Medium -> Heavy -> Exchange (launcher attack when pressed on ground)
you can also chain into the same attack strength from standing to crouching:
Light -> crouching Light -> Medium -> crouching Medium -> Heavy -> crouching Heavy -> Exchange
(or any variation as long as you respect the magic series order: L -> M -> H -> E)
after ending the ground combo with the Exchange button, you hold the up direction and you jump with them into the air where you can repeat the magic series sequence for an air combo. a basic combo looks like this: L, M, H, E (on ground) -> L, M, H (in air) -> Hyper Combo (finisher)
this is day zero stuff, all characters can do this.
the advanced parts come from certain air attacks bouncing the opponent to the ground, giving you time to land and extend the combo, or bouncing them to the wall near the corner.. or linking two Hyper Combos at the end with the same character etc. etc.
Thanks. I will definetly get this game. The speed (and the easier execution) is very intriguing.
My roomates will probably like this a bit more than SF due to the fact that pulling of combos is easier aswell. Hell I'm still having problems with every Bread and butter combo in SF :(.
A guide would be awesome. It doesn't seem like there is any combo damage scaling in MVC. Is that correct?
some day one combos: http://www.youtube.com/user/trag13#g/u
all characters seem super powerful which is great. however, the most damaging combos incorporate X-Factor, so you trade an easy kill for the possibility of comeback later (see bellow).
X-Factor is another mechanic new to MvC3, activated by pressing all four attack buttons (A, B, C and E) at once. When active, your point character:
- regains 'red life' at an extremely rapid rate
- is substantially sped up
- both normal and 'chip' damage are greatly increased
- on activation, you can cancel the recovery of a move to continue a combo that would otherwise couldn't be extended or to be safe on block from a counter (this is similar with Focus Attack Dash Cancel from SF4)
You get one activation of X-Factor per match, and the duration and damage boost has 3 levels depending on how many characters your team has:
- level 1 when activated with all 3 characters alive, damage boost 10%, duration 10 seconds
- level 2 when activated with 2 characters alive, damage boost 20%, duration 20 seconds
- level 3 when activated with only 1 character alive, damage boost 30%, duration 30 seconds
enough with the combos, can't wait until the game officially launches and people start abusing each other. also i'm very curious what the future will bring in terms of team synergies. the key in this game is finding the best combinations of characters that insure the best assists to your point man for gaining positional advantage, extending combos or setting up traps that lead to big damage.

Fuck you Capcom guys, play real game i.e. Guilty Gear!
SF is like CS of fighting games, while GG is Quake. Oh yeah, and MvC3 is just retarded, no skill involved.
unlike FPS players, fighting game pros are good at multiple games across the genre. some of the best SF players dominated in GG too (and the other way around). aww, shucks :<
also anime sucks, MVC3 is the GG of the Western world

Many SF games have official artwork in anime (Alpha and SF3 series), and SF has three different films and a TV series that are anime. So I always found it funny when people hate on certain games like GG for being anime, when SF can be labeled the same.
