Yeah, Pity about the lack of ctf frags, but then again I can't really be blamed for that when people didn't send me anything :D Nace sent me 1 demo, and he was probably the only one playing ctf who's in the movie =) Maybe next time I'll ask some ctfers to send me something! :-D

I had about 30 gig left on the drive I saved everything. and I had to render movie on my C: drive (which is 450gig) 2 drives, 1 475, 1 432 :o)

- crispyness (texts in the start, weaponmodels) use antialiasing next time
- too much rocket frags, for the next movie gather more frags with different weapons and weapon combos
- too much defensive frags instead of chasing frags
- wtf with strangely placed kill msgs

i gave it 7, its not bad but neither it really gave me any sort of special feelings. Also i myself hate when there are frags where i see how guy playing fails some easy shots before getting the combo, makes it look somehow less amazing and more ordinary shiaaat.

I had to work with what I got. Hard to do that if you don't recieve enough demos :). Antialiasing was used, but my pc couldnt handle the render I think, so it came out looking a bit uncrisp, sadly.

I had to give up after about 100 render tries (No joke) And that includes the 25ish times render failed due to vegas having a low memory bug.

The fragmsgs is my fault (and wolfcams) cfg being replaced, using old wolfcam, then jumping to new one, me trying to fix it, made it even worse, but I figured what the hell.. Zeroql was really pushing that I should fix that, but my lack of motivation made me not wanna do that :-E

yeah getting really good content is really hard, which most people dont have the patience for. technically this was a great movie but movie makers need to be patient with content.

its like a highlight reel from some tournament, its good players making good frags, but only a few (if that, just in general) are totally awesome. its no surprise only a few movies are 90% awesome action without too many fillers

its quite a dilemma actually when usually the content is the most important, but the movie maker doesnt really have any influence over it, you just gotta use what you get. and you did that well, i like your style :)

Bad music, very, very boring intro, mediocre frags on mediocre players.

The multiple rail frags are shit, if its not a super flick, its not good. The air rockets were standard... just very boring.

The quality of syncs were good and the config however you used too much blur and stop/go shit with models that took me out of the action.

Rewatch fox the last iceclimber. Fox does frag mediocre players in that movie, but how he does it looks way more spectacular.

Loved it, but I personally don't like wolfcam + gibs for movies. Decent enough frags, ok music. Editing was nice but lacked something really special, though with the computer problems you were having, that's completely understandable. :]

Well done, hopefully editing and graphic settings will be even better when/if you get a new pc.

wow those teleport ins and outs are very ugly in ql

positives:
- the intro was quite cool
- most the frags were at a good enough level
- the first song
- clean editing & i like the name font

negatives:
- either the intro or outro should have been short...no reason to have the same stuff repeated (e.g. intro as is then "thanks for watching..irc" at the end)
- that first fazz frag should have been cut...too long & too many missed shots
- the second song

as the balance shows i wasnt blown away. even with the first song, with the music being cool & the frags being good i just didnt feel that into it (although youtube stream quality might play a slight factor).

good try though, look forward to watching your next one

is it possible to increase weapon fire volume btw? i was turning the sound up so the sounds were at a cool level but shards etc went too...in QL can you adjust gun fire volume separate to overall?

Okay, despite the fact that in my personal opinion quake live is shit. That was actually a movie i didn't close. It had some pretty amazing frags there, it was all in good motion, nothing slowed down and stuff, the editing was ace aswell and the quality with it. Something i really liked was the music choice. the two steps from hell was kinda meh... but Feed me a.k.a Spor's, that my brother showed me earlier today electro house was pretty good, didn't like the Sierra Leone though, been listening that whole year.

also: i might be tired and spacing, gravity was awkward.

It was okay. None of the frags really wow'ed me, but I guess you can't go for total mind-blowing shit every time. Anyways it felt a bit slow paced and dull but it looked great. I would still prefer no crosshair at all but that just me.

yes in deed, that is just compensated by the fact that most people are more comfortable using lg and rail because of predictability of fights. Balance wise rockets are overpowered.

I tried something different for this movie, having the first song being a bit more "chilled" 2nd one being a bit more "chaotic". + making a good intro(or atleast I thought so) I have to say I got a bit bored towards the end, so it could've & should've been better (Polished) and the render problems fucked me over aswell...

This is all my fault though, because I am not patient enough to wait for good material, and I don't have a good enough PC to be doing what I am doing (I thought I had a good pc, appearantly not)

I will take any feedback I get and utilize it. I enjoy making movies, so any help is appreciated =)

editing is cool i guess, but the music is so awful i couldnt keep watching longer than a few mins :/ (yea i skipped to check all the music, all bad IMO)

to be honest music is extremely important. perfectly fitting music can make rather average frags look great (virtuosity) whilst, most of the time, great content can look boring because of the lack of editing and thought for music (lof.ra3.fnu). obviously a moviemaker can't please everyone with the music but it should definately have some thought put into it, which is more than can be said about the music in a lot of frag movies (including the new cypher one).

yeah, my point exactly, the music should fit and enhance the movie but i does not need (and cant) be everyones taste

I liked it quite alot :D probs an 8/9, we need more movies like this it gets people playing again and shows quake in a good light, and i'd recommend you do a cypher frag movie it would be pretty beastly..

Personally I think the quality turned out kinda shit, due to my pc not handling the overload, buuuuut anyways..

cl_avidemo 200, into vdub framerate200, save as uncompressed, into vegas, added some filters, rendered at uncompressed, encoded at 10k bitrate

next time use lagarith lossless codec instead of uncompressed -> save tons of disk space, no quality loss
