on w7 maybe you need to install those monitor drivers/detect the monitor on the screen res thing, sometimes windows 7 won't detect my crt will go 120hz so i have to redetect it from time to time.

I had to do that pin removal trick as well, even with my crt drivers loaded. A Win7 bug that should have been fixed long ago :/

I have a Dell laptop with a HD4330 in it, but the ATI drivers are PURE shit. This was the ONLY way I was able to force 120hz to a CRT, I would try the same. It's not dependent on video card drivers, so it doesn't matter that you're on Nvidia.

Also is the "Hide refresh rates this monitor cannot support" box unchecked?

Just an FYI, forcing refresh rates that the monitor doesnt support natively diminishes its lifespan considerably. If you got the money to keep replacing them then go bananas but otherwise be careful.

Windows (most of the time) hides refresh rates that the monitor CAN support, for some reason it doesn't want to show them.

Yeah I fought with this problem some weeks back, never thought that win7 could be such a shitty os with crt screens. Afaik win7 reads monitors EDID like a bible and does not you to choose higher hz for the monitor under any circuimstances. Pin removal didn't work for me, windows just forced 60hz on all resolutions and gave no other options to choose from, so it was a step back from 75hz I got with original cable. Anyway the way I got up to 120hz was by tweaking the monitor EDID and creating a new driver for the monitor. Gillz pasted the url for the guide earlier in this thread.

I had the same issue but i was able to get it to work through the nvidia control panel, but I could only get it to work if I set the resolution and refresh rate up and then choose manual under timings and didnt change anything other then adding a 1 at the end of the refresh rate. So if want 120hz you just change the manual timing to 120.001.

Yep, that's the easiest solution to this problem. I've got a 460 as well and I was pissed off at first, that nothing worked, not even Rivatuner.
