I use to go to highschool with them; They add the best punk rock band ever.(reset) Real hard punk, You know NOFX style.. Anyways, they never made a penny, so they broke the band and started a new one called simple plan where they would sing about being 15 years old and crying alone in your room because nobody understands you. (comming from a group that is all over 25 of course..) They went on to sell millions of records and are now millionnaire.

Its sad to say, but emo sells.
The funny part is kids think they really listen to some hardcore shit.

I can't say I'm an expert on emo music since listening to anymore than 20 seconds of it causes me to convulse and foam at the mouth. Of course it sells, just like the genres which were popular before it. Take "grunge", as it was notoriously called. It was pretty popular in the early to mid 90s and that sold pretty well. Remember the flannel phase? Kids these days wouldn't know much about that, though.

In any case, today's youth can be defined like so:

girlfriend: C'mon, lets have sex.
boyfriend: I'm too sad to have sex.

emo is a underground scene. It's a sub-genre of Punk-Hardcore.
The first bands appears to be emo are Moss Icon and Rite of Spring.

Then you can call the stereotyped guys/girls who wear skinny pants and have black/flashy color hair, an emo. But that style come from the mainstream part of emo (tagged as emo in last.fm) which is absoluetly wrong if we look at the definition of the emo scene.

Btw Simple Plan sucks. And It's not emo music at all :>

I knew Bulb a long time ago and liked his early stuff when it was more Meshuggah influenced but the more he added elements like a melodic vocalist and whatever to pander to the more mainstream the less I liked it.

I still prefer the early versions of Periphery's stuff when it went under the Bulb name and was digitally recorded (that is, with POD's, DKFH etc rather then accoustics. It sounded more digital and sharper) That plus it had better solos and vocals. It was overcompressed to fuck but just sounded like a wall of sound and so much more extreme then it does now. It just sounds tame in comparison

That isn't the situation we have here. Instead of it being considered a different style, the emo scene calls it emo and carries on like it did before albeit listening to a new style of music than what it was before.

That's one way of looking at it, the other could be that music is evolving and this includes that some parts that always were present get shifted more into the focus than others.
It's not like 'post-rock with screamo' is so completely new musically speaking. What I think of the essence of post-rock (long build-ups etc.) was included in emo to begin with (Rites of Spring, Moss Icon and others). Only the term 'post-rock' is new.

The term post-rock is older than emo itself and has very little to do with what you consider the essence of post-rock. It's also not too great a term anyway (same with 'post-metal' and other such tags).

Anyway I'm not interested in this discussion (genres, styles and scenes) I just generally find most 'styles' of music generally are better described as scenes so it's not just emo.

I don't think he's saying that either.
He's even saying that the current emo music (or at least some artists) are sticking to the early-90s emo, while others have polished the post-rockish elements that imo have already been present in emo music in the 80s.

I really don't see how this classifies as 'doing something stylistically different', when it's pretty clear to me that 'emo' was never meant to be exactly this way or another.

Also, you are still to point out how exactly e.g. Mesa Verde are fundamentally stylistically different from let's say Navio Forge.
