I'm sat here wondering if these armed police even get training with guns sometimes. The guy standing up seems to be holding his gun wrong (if he fires, the kickback will take it over his shoulder...)

Nothing to do with who uses what since the SAS don't stick with specific weapons. It depends on the situation for them, and these armed police are blatantly using G36' :p

british police dont need full automactics, with semi automatic you have more chance of taking them alive, with 40 guns surrounding them

if its not a shotgun, 1 in every 1000 gun is a real gun, and those are only found on the white man, all other gun are converted blanks that usually dont work, or just scratch the skin

most people dont die if you get shot in briton, not even chix who get tortured alnight and shot in the head, the gun are all duff, so most people use a knife

He is not holding it wrong. It's urban combat basically and sometimes you need to hold the gun like that when you're going around corners (opening the corners so to speak, don't really know the english term) and trying not to get hit. Can't really see what's on the right in that picture tho...

Injury time may occur when you're using the weaponry of the infantry.

You would holster the gun against your shoulder no matter what. You can still pull it down easily since most are attached to a 3-point sling. Even if it's not, you would push it up against your shoulder and point it downwards so that all you have to do is bring your left arm up to fire.

edit: will add, alot of the time you wouldn't and you would hold it more relaxed, but in this situation, he's actually prepared to fire... so seems like a silly stance to take :p

Pointless to continue this further I guess but just my last 2 cents:

Stances depend on the situation and the one on this pic is not necessarily wrong. In urban combat you can't always use the standard stances because of the small corridors and whatnot.

Also, the time it takes to bring your left arm up to fire is enough for the enemy to kill you if he's coming behind the corner ready to fire (as in only needs to push the trigger).

If you must know, yes, I do have experience with firearms, and regardless, the way he's holding it in that picture (and knowing he's preparing to fire since he's looking down the red-dot) it's a crap stance. He's standing out in the open. The guy below is in a somewhat better stance and you can see since he's holstering it into his shoulder but it's still not fully into the shoulder. First of all, the guy standing up will be aiming off since he's looking down the site at an angle and secondly he isn't supporting the shot with his bodyweight. The other rather worrying thing is that they have their fingers in the trigger. This is a definite nono in 99% of situations and military train people to keep it in this position until actually prepared to go live. I'm assuming he was on safe, but there's just no need to do that in any switch
