I have a razer goliathus, and i do not like it too much. It is too fast (and I already use the control version). Before I used to have a cheap mousepad with higher friction and i liked it much better because i use some accel. Duno if that makes sense and I hope it helps u m8.

Yes, if you like the standard cloth pad friction this is the way to go.

If you can't find a Supermat anywhere, there are surely places you can buy mousepad stock and cut your own.

The QcK heavy has less friction than the Titan without being too fast.

Raindrop XL is decent for the price. actually I like using two on top of each other. i know it sounds weird, but it's very comfortable and controllable xD...

Gholiatus control/mantis control. Its probably fastest cloth pad on market, same reason why people dont like it (they think control means more friction). Speed version is slower than control and pretty similar to titan (and mantis speed).
But if you want cloth with less friction, definately gholiatus control.

Why is the Gholiathus speed slower than the control version? It has a more fine fabric surface concerning the friction issue. In addition ppl experienced frayed edges on the edges of the control mousmat.

I ended up buying a goliathus control mat. It is the same size as my everglide titan. It is lower friction like i wanted. tbh it's shit. I find it harder to aim and dont like playing with it so i went back to the titan.

co-incidently, I also bought a copperhead. The copperhead sucks comapred to my g5 so I have now gone off razer products completely.

You are pretty dumb TBH... I mean did you even glance at the mousescore 2007 that originated from THIS SITE? this is the only reason I even know of this site and G5 and Copperhead are 2 of the shittiest mice and 2 of the most expensive... so GG on not doing good research. Also, laser doesn't track as well on cloth as optical period. I have a lachesis (which for laser is sublime) and a deathadder ( the mouse that cant be beaten, especially with the new no prediction firmware so GTFO IM 1.1 users) as well as a goliathus control and a razer destructor and while both mice perform better on the destructor due to its "advanced" surface, the lachesis performs night and day better on it where as my deathadder pwns no matter what its on. I was unaware the the control version is actually slower than the control (?) but I have an everglide titan fnatic edition and the goliathus, imo, is much nicer feel wise(slower) whilst tracking is a non issue with deathadder which I use primarily as i play CS. I ordered a puretrak as I found a discount cupon to try it out ill post my comments when it arrives. Coupon is "invitecs" if you are so inclined -6.75 USD. you have to do it after you select how many mousepads you want for it to work. Also, the G5 is shit, get rid of if. my brother and I both had one a promptly sold them on ebay as they blow. Hope this helped. oh PS Qck will be worse than the goliathus from what i have read.

I did look at the mouse score but I play with a high sensitiivty which is in the tolerance of the lazer sensors ability to preform so the whole mousescore thing isn't really an issue.

I didnt like the copperhead because of the shape and the side buttons were awkward to use compared to the g5. Also the extra buttons on the right aren't useable so besides mouse 4 and 5 you have no extra buttons. On the g5 I use the tilt wheel to alt+f4 apps in windows. Also I don't like the copperheads smaller mouse feet. The larger feet on the g5 feel more stable to me.

I dont want a hard mat because they scratch up the mouse feet and wear away over time making them inconsistent.

Yeah, I probably should have worded my stuff better I came off as an asshole I guess. Didn't really mean to say you are dumb, just I was left emotionally damaged when I paid 120 CDN for my G5 and it blew for cs :P please forgive me. Yeah the copperhead isn't the greatest mouse. Logitech definitly KILLS razer in build quality, but tracking is another story. Yeah the copperhead is an acquired taste, I didn't like it either. I have had similar experiences with hardmats except, from data and my personal perception, they track WAYYYY better, especially on lazer. I found another mat you might be interested in and that is the Nova Over Slide 2. I want to try one in the summer when I have cash to toss around. Its almost the same size as the goliathus and has better technology behind it than the destructor (from what i have been able to find. Maybe at that size the benefit of the superior tracking would outweigh the sometimes scratchiness and difficulty to control, but who knows..


****To update my impressing I am using both the Everglide Titan and Puretrak Talent side by side and the puretrak is definitly better overall. The puretrak has a better, slicker surface that is somehow easier to slow down on if desired. but small movements are definitly resisted much less by the puretrack. on the everglide when you move and stop you get a feeling that might be the equivalent of someone hitting the pedal too hard in a car when stopping at a stoplight. its not a clean stop. its stuttered. the puretrak is way better in this respect. The puretrak is also like 1.5 to 2x times thicker and absorbs swiping better. I would say the puretrak is what you are looking for plank. just a headsup is the shipping to Canada took 2 weeks from the US so might take a while depending on where you are. Anyways lets hope my GF doesn't somehow find my uber nerd postings :P.

i got a puretrak now, it's the smoothest cloth path i've ever had. perfectly flat out of the box, doesn't smell, it's washable and doesn't change its surface with use. all my mice tracked precisely on it. definitely recommended.

Oh, I forgot to say that the copperhead has new firmware out that removes prediction just as the deathadder did. I do not know if the G5 does but i will asume that it does as all other logitech mice to my knowledge do and G5 is crap is every respect besides build quality so i wouldnt have faith in it not having prediction. lachesis and mamba never had any prediction to begin with. try downloading that firmware as i LOVED it for my deathadder and i have heard positive things from copperhead users (not hat i trust laser users' opinions to begin with :P) so cheers and GL.

PS yes i know quake and cs are completely diff mice wise (im assuming you play quake) but low sense pushes mice to the limits so if it cant do well at low sense i wont use it. 1.0 in game babyyyyyy

Well the Puretrak arrived. Its actually quite slick compared to my Goliathus Control... but it seems to offer more resistance at high speeds... which I found odd. its about 1.5 inches bigger than the Goliathus which is nice. It actually makes it seem much larger that it actually is. What I mean by that previous statement was at this size the extra 1.5 inches allows the center space to be biger so it does feel much more open than the everglide and gliathus. I was initially underwhelmed by the surface but it does seem to track better than both the goliathus control and titan everglide, and under close inspection it does seem to be reflective(in the good way... kinda have to see it to know what i mean.) and well designed like the advertisement on the site says. I wasn't happy when I found out how slippery it was at fist but the resistance at high speed made me DM with it to a get a feel (in cs) I had to lower my sens from 2.5 to 2.0 but I must say it feels extremely nice. It is less slippery than the everglide titan fnatic edition i have. I actually like this mat QUITE a bit. when trying to control at high sensitivity it doesnt give you the odd movements the textured ones do, and when moving the mouse at high speeds it feels amazing and doesn't allow you to overshoot. It is exactly what i was looking for and i didn't even know it aha. So I would say anyone willing to check a new pad out, try this one. Sta|in good review, right on point. I've been in the search for a new pad (used a FATpad for years and loved it) - the fatpad is just like the supermat which people have talked about, and the supermat offers more friction, although not quite as much as the allsop as someone pointed out

I'm one of the "more friction" preference kinda guys, so I bought a supermat, qck+, and protrak talent. Yes i'd have to say the protrak is slick, which you would assume I wouldn't like, but it offers incredible control as Sta|in has pointed out. It's actually my favorite pad amongst the 3. Although, the supermat is as thin as a qck+ now a days, anyone use them still and notice this??? I was really pissed about that as I prefer thicker cloth pads for comfort.

Looks like a slightly thicker Corepad Deskpad XXXL, which was a nice, simple mouse pad. It didn't cause any tracking problems with my DeathAdder (or either of my Fat mice), and beyond the first couple of weeks it didn't seem to wear down, or fray much.

XTrac pads do a similar large mousepad, but I've never tried that one, or seen much mentioned of it beyond the usual review sites that give everything good scores.

Probably of no use to you, but if anyone in the EU wants a decent cheap mouse pad, the ridiculously named 'Boogie Bug AimB Pad XL' can be found pretty cheaply, and is so large you could easily cut it into 3 decent sized mouse pads, if the idea of a desk sized mousepad doesn't appeal.
