Event: IEM4

Tonight is the first playday of two in the Intel Extreme Masters Qualifier #2. All players will meet on

#esl.quakelive. The tournament will feature around 50 players and the top two will be invited for the American Championship.

The sign up for Qualifier #3 & #4 are still open. Use your chance and qualify for the Intel Extreme Masters American Championship.

Update: Tonight's matches, starting at 20:00 CDT, 23 September 2009 with Round 4, will be broadcasted on livestream.com. Check the results or brackets to see what exciting matches are coming. As

whaz can't play this Wednesday, the 2 remaining matches will likely be played tomorrow evening.

Update 2: whaz/walter will be played tonight at 18:00 CDT, and the final against JUDGE right after that.

people should crap this timezone bs
it should be 1 notation for each location e.g. cet, gmt, pdt etc
and then the clocks should actually go back/forwards as everyone says with those timezones rather than "clock goes back cos we have a completely new timezone"

with this bs i have to just say uk/eu time to make it clear cos some people say gmt but mean current uk time...when i say the same they +2 for eu

I'm a little confused about all this shit, this is the qualifier for the american championship, will that be a LAN event? And will there be one for the euro's? Then combined? :D

If it's not on a LAN which i can't find anything about so i guess it's not then it's gonna suck dick w/o GTV :| Hope it's streamed by ESL..

It's one of four Qualifiers for the American Championship. The American Championship will be Online, we are working on a streaming solution for it. The American Championship Finals for Quake Live might be offline, we can not announce yet whether they will be online or offline, coz we need to fix some stuff first.

Yes the same will be for Europe with online Qualifers and a European Championship.

At the End there will be Global Finals on Cebit in Hannover, but whether Quake Live will be included or not is also not 100% confirmed yet and depends on whether we have offline events on the continents.

Let me clear things up:

Those are qualifiers for the Intel Extreme Masters American Championship. Its regular season (consisting of group play) will take place online. Its finals (for 8 players) will hopefully be played on LAN, or at least at a live location but online (all depends on id Software).

Ok, i'll break it down for you in your terms. Lets forget about major lan tournaments for the moment and focus online only since that is where walter has had all of his success.

Q3 Online - Beating chance soundly to win the online tournament. Beating z4 and czm on hub repeatedly.

QL Online - horrible, can't hang with rapha or dahang, or dkt. Is so crappy in fact that he loses to Judge.

Q3 = very easy to cheat in.
QL = next to impossible to cheat in.

so again, what more needs to be said. Let it go pls.

tbh, dm6 was just about over, and walter seemed to simply "concede" the map and ask to go on to t7, which imho IS his better map; however, walter truly did disgustquit on t7 and even offer whaz his IEM spot.

Could say walter didn't play that well on t7 -- but didn't help that Judge's pg&lg were particularly brutal and consistent.
