so, what does it do?

The new version of q4sm has many improvements and additional features.

Alternate fire works for almost all weapons.
The response time of the weapons is a lot better I dont have to lead my shots---and as hypothesized no lead on weapon makes for easy fragging--i get more frags than i did back in 1.3 patch with 0 ping lol. But this mod is a fun mod and I am not saying it isnt competitive but the goal of the mod was never to replace or do what q4max has done or to be a league mod. Part of what got me into modding was that the only servers that were active in q4 were base and q4max and I wanted a bit of diversity and something that was different, and I tihnk q4sm achieves this goal. How many games in q4 can you see 9 different railguns that do different things? How many q4 games can you see 9 different rocketlaunchers with various ammo? Alternate fire was a goal of mine from the beginning and I was pretty happy to have been able to achieve it (and will give the source code to anyone who wants to use it (weapons only). The slides in this mod are unique too. Years ago another part of why i invested time in making this mod was to try to bridge the gap between the vet and the noob. To try to make a game that is fun, part of the reason i made the high speed of the mod back then (and also I dont think instagib modes should be slow in movement). Q4SM does make strafe jumping easier and also it is easier to slide--and I think this makes it easier for new people to learn and also to have fun. Cause someone who is very new in q4max or base and is playing someone who has been around since q1--the carrot is not even close to him and can be very frustrating. I agree with the Russian psychologist Vygotsky that you got to have the carrot just out of the reach of the learner. So I think i have achieved that goal, a lot of people who have played my mod in the last coule years have been new to quake---then i lose them to freezetag some months later :P lol.

Thanks for the compliments, i do have a version for q3 :) just type cl_allowDownload 1 and join 72.9.109.76--you spawn with all weapons and a grapple. I havent put altfire into the q3sm becuase I didnt start playing quake in q3. Yeah I think spawning with all weapons is great for ctf. The all Rails mode definitely was played a lot. The mod was just overhauled again with some improvements 24.218.68.123 is the ip address of the latest. I am currently working on the hook for the q4sm.

hehe thanks but i wouldnt say that is exactly true lol. But I like a black background with yellow type--I think its easy for the eyes to read rathe than seeing a glaring white background.
