Sweden has raised one of the biggest and best

Quake players of all time. There for everyone knows the old gamers joke: "If you are from Sweden, your are automatically a good FPS player". This was also a valid rule for the Arena legend

Alexander 'Z4muZ' Ihrfors. How ever, like a lot of former eSports players, a few years ago Z4muZ changed his shaft for a pack of cards. So these days you might find him online or in a casino for poker.

Z4muZ is becoming a man, currently 22 years old and lives together with his girlfriend in a nice apartment in Avesta, Sweden. So he's living a good life out there in the cold.

For us a good reason to interview Z4muZ. Just to see how he is, what he does and what he loves.

Z4muZ was always my favorite player before he quit, it was such a joy to watch him play! He had one of the best movement out there, godlike aim. Moreover, he played really, really smart and sneaky, I loved his unique style and I miss him too :f

in fact, what is the difference between quake and poker?
one: at least when you play poker you can get money, also to get it from quake.. you must practice so hard.. as hard as you can push yourself to another stage of your brain(and i like it, i prefer knowledge than money). but people is different around the world, i prefer to see how could someone changes and see the experience to bring to me new knowledge.

I'm not doubting he's a nice guy. He's probably a super nice guy, but my point is, you don't have to follow everything you see in a magazine and listen to everyone else and run your life like that.

You can do what you want, but, there's consequences for that.

Example: Living off poker - Can be extremely unstable income, including LOSS of income.

i dont know z4muz personally, i just know some people who think like my previous posts. working a 9-5 would be the worst thing possible for these people. they'd rather live on the street than work 9-5. therefore, playing poker for a living might be better than other options he has.

I don't know z4muz either but I get the distinct impression he's never actually tried any 9/5 job and that he went straight to poker when he stopped playing Q3.

I just don't like people seeing 9/5 type jobs as some evil thing to avoid. There are plenty of 9/5 jobs out there that most people would love, and lots of non-poker non-9/5 jobs too!

what he forgets to mention is that even if you're good(lucky) enough to support yourself by playing poker, you actually have to play it A LOT. I know this for a fact, all top poker pros play 8hrs a day or longer, come tournament time it's up to 18hrs.

So it still is a fucking 9-17 job, however you put it. if you enjoy playing poker that much all power to you, personally I'd die of boredom if I had to do it.

Oh I'm not saying that everyone should start living like z4muz, thinking everyone should be exactly the same seems to be Gillz' deal.

Of course regular jobs offer more security, and I for example will work in one eventually in engineering/managament. But it is what I enjoy to do!

But thinking everyone should do that is fucked up.

I have a friend who gets up at noon if it's early. Never really learned a career job.
But he works as a freelancer web, graphics and video design and runs a sound studio. Works around 60h a week, and loves his job.

It that supposed to be a bad choice now, too?
