i think if it gets a bit modified the map it might be able playable in q3 or quakelive

The map is too small for CPM imo.

Second: Why requires CPM movement large maps?

I think the scale is too small. The ceiling in some corridors is too low.
But it's just my opinion..

found this in less than 5 seconds of downloading and quit the game, cba. generally ( didnt try with tectures) it looks like a very good port though.. nice :)

its possible in vq3 and very easy in cq3

Quite easy in vq3 too. First jump should be to highest point of little ledge and second jump slightly delayed, not a quick double jump like t2 tele.

Couple jumppads seemed to allow me to hit my head on above ledges and knock me back down, near LG and GL. Also, running+jumping up stairs to RA room from MH area was awkward. Didn't check all stairs to see if this was happening elsewhere but you might want to check it out.

I actually like this. Hurry up and ask Lukin so you can texture it and release a beta.

EDIT: Also, RG fix...put a lift there or maybe a button to activate lift by jumping and hitting head or have to shoot.

vq3:

Health bubble corridor(leading to ra) is way to small, and the ledge above that coridor kind of overlaps so you can't do a rocketjump straight up against the wall.

The stairway ceiling leading to plasma/lg ammo, from upper ra shards is to low, it should be higher, also, the ledge to the right of the stairway should be removed kind of a lame camping/hiding spot.

Something should be done at rail for vq3, so people can get up to gl, but that's not necesarry for cq3, isn't it possible to do per gameplay level structures? I know that if you vote teamplay in some maps, the geometry changes, as in cpm29.

EDIT: besides that, all jumps are perfectly fine in the alpha (monsoon_a4), lg-rl jump is fine, but no ramp is needed for vq3(again the geometry thing).

Tele to mega is fine, tele to ammo is fine, ya ramp to mega is fine, it's actually a pretty good map for q3:D

There are like hundreds of maps created so far and NONE of them apart from "fairly new Hub" are being used now days in VQ3. I mean the map pool hasn't changed for ages - we have very old ztn, dm6, nodm9 (dm13), t4 and sometimes t2. Nobody wants to play anything else. Some people even still don't know hub, because it's STILL quite new to them (OMG.). It's just so sad.

I would love to see/play new maps in some tourneys, forced or not, but thats just not gonna happen. I agree that all of the current maps are really awesome, but I have enough of them. They were overplayed for years and became quite boring. Everybody knows how to play them - more or less. Everybody knows the pattern - where to go when the game is starting, how to position themselves at every point of the map, etc. Fairly new players have absolutely no chances to catch up with oldies.

It's sad. In Korea players have to learn new maps every new season of StarLeagues. That's why the 10 years old StarCraft still feels fresh. New strategies, new ways to play, new awesome, unique tricks. I would love to see that in Q3. Of course not that drastically - the map pool wouldn't be changed every half year or so. But for god sake, I would love to get rid of ztn, dm6, t4 and t2 already.

I had so much fun learning hub and I could catch up with rest, because the map was fairly new - not many players knew how to play it back in the days. And those days were great.

But people are too lazy so I'll keep on dreaming.

That's exactly what I've been thinking about for quite some time now. We don't need new game, we need new maps.

Very true, the only game that uses somewhat new maps at the highest level is CSS...Q4 also had Torment and that other map at the very end.

lvl has quite a few good/fun maps if you go through them. That's how we ended up with pukka, but it just didn't stick. <3 subdm1

Ok. So we have cpm24f, soon we will have monsoon (i suggest some gothic textures here <3. If you need help contact me, I used to do stuff like that for 3d graphicians...), we can choose pukka maps as well. Not entirely new but for sure more fresh than fucking ztn3tourney1.

What about this maplist: hub3aeroq3, pro-nodm9, cpm24f, monsoon, best pukkas, maybe other maps?

That's good list of maps and a connection between oldies and new. Just please someone make an important cup with these maps. Please.

well, ive put nodm9 only becouse its "new". not becouse i like it.

guys jesus, don't make lists including ztn, dm6 or t4. this maps should be GONE. dm6 is great map, indeed, but spawns are horrible and its SO old and SO overplayed. personally i like t4 becouse of rail and shit, but i can agree that it's "just disgusting" (c) vo0. same comes for ztn. ok, it's good, but no one can simply match hardcore russian ztners who know every fucking trick, every move, every timing there by heart. it's very strategical map as all we know, for sure we need map like that but what about letting ppl come with their own, new strategies?

You dont really need to ask him to recreate his map. There is nothing forcing you to get the rights to do it. Its all for the respect of the original mapper. Most of the time they simply say that there is no problem and some might even give you tips to make it work for gametype X.

Upload this to quakelive ? we need more maps in there. Also, can someone re do qzdm6, its a plain translation of pro-q3dm6 for quakelive, and its just too boring to play.

Why not? It'd make the atrium a bit more dynamic. Catching someone mid ramp-jump with RL or LG would be an interesting situation. Also would make map a bit faster by allowing a route up and out of atrium quickly.

Couple things (For VQ3)

LG to Rocket jump won't work unless you shoot a plasma shot at the ramp while you jump on it.

I think you should somehow make it so it's make-able.

Rail to upper area doesn't work either, but, that's not as big of a deal. Might make it a bit better, knowing once you're in there, you can't get out (Unless weapon assisted).

The textures are okay, but I'm really not a fan of the brick walls. Maybe something a little more futuristic would look better?

If you make a few more changes to the map like the ones above, I'd be more then happy to make that map my default map for the Chicago Q3 duel server I'm purchasing soon.

Cheers, i tried that but for some reason it wasn't working, is now.
Some sight lines are very different from the original and don't know what sort of impact this will have on gameplay. MH to LG is very open while above RA down to teleport is very restricted. Plays shitty in vq3 but was really funny with cpm, but then again i was just running about and aint that what cpm is all about?
