You'll also find a great deal more male surgeons than female.

Don't get me wrong, my girlfriend is a gamer, and tbh she's not half bad. She went with me last year to Quakecon and is really excited that she'll get to bring a computer this year. But overall, while I fully support girl gaming, and know that they're not automatically horrible players, I don't think they in general will have the same type of hormonal, base level competitive spirit.
I'm not saying that I believe it's physically impossible for a female to game as well as a male in an FPS, but I can say with complete confidence that it's highly improbable.

I find that strange since other researches has proven that females have better fine motor control than males. That should be one of the explainations to why girls' handwriting often look way better than guys'.

As of that the girls should have an advantage on that point in gaming aimwise.

I believe it to be a matter of matter of numbers. As jaffeh points out so well its way more likely to find a guy with talent in gaming than to find a girl with the same kinda talent, since the guys outnumber girls with 1000 to 1 or something within esport.

Its the same reason why small countries with small populations are pretty much chanceless to produce sport talents to match larger countries.

What a stupid thing to say, that's like suggesting there's absolutely no difference between white people and black people in terms of basketball aptitude. Genetics accounts to a large degree for what anyone is capable of, none of us are equal or without difference. There will always be certain white guys who are good, perhaps great at basketball just as there may be girls who become good or great gamers.

Don't use shitty excuses to ignore the fact other people just aren't as good though. Lumping entire genders of people together as though simple reasons could explain away the vast complexity and difference in the world is incorrect and sexist.

That race stuff is pretty much a myth. Remember when they said the same thing about black boxers, how they're genetically superior blah blah.. and look what you have nowdays - 80% of top fighters are white russians.

Also in case you forgot the NBA stars you write about, they got their butts kicked in last two world championships by all-white teams and they had Lebron, Garnet, Duncan, Wade ie the best of the best. When it comes to gender differences tho, those are clear and well documented.

Actually in the last two championships firstly they didn't have Kobe Bryant who is the best individual player and secondly for a number of years a lot of the top tier players snubbed playing for the USA team because they wanted to rest over the Summer. The World Championship for basketball isn't like the World cup is for football, the best competition is hands down the NBA. North American sports don't place the same level of importance on the world competitions, as you can see by the way in ice hockey you don't get all the cream of the crop in their world championships either. Team USA has lost the world championships for a couple of easily identifiable reasons:

* The rest of the world is no longer intimidated by them and their style, no doubt a product of all the South American/European players who have played in the NBA and become accustomed to them.
* The NBA with its salary cap limitations is basically setup now so that every team has at least one big star and so they are used to getting their shots first and foremost as a priority on the team. When you take all of those stars and throw them on the same team shots have to be shared and people are playing roles they don't play for their team during the season.
* The best not putting themselves forwards as before. Take a look at the disparity between the number of top tier allstars in the 1992 dream team and the number in the 2000 world championships team. Goes without saying without your best players you won't play to the maximum of your potential.

The basketball point is absolutely solid actually, we're talking about overall trends from gender or race here. The trend is pretty obvious that black people are better at basketball overall, aside from Dirk Nowitzki who is basically a freak of nature (a big guy who can shoot from all ranges) all the big white guys in the NBA are nowhere close to the finesse or power of the big black guys. The only time the NBA was overrun with white guys doing well was when blacks weren't allowed to play in it, hence why the globetrotters became so famous.

There will always be individual cases which go against the grain but that is exactly what my original post said, the fact those anomalies exist and go against any kind of grain shows that overwhelmingly they are not the norm.

Even if equal numbers of males and females played video games and with equivalent desire and dedication it seems unlikely to me girls would ever be better in general at the current video games/esports we have right now, men seem in general to be better suited to abilities required to succeed. Even if it were the case that as Jaffeh says girls are only worse because they don't practice as much that is more evidence for them not being as good, they are not predisposed to have the same desire and dedication to become good at a video game apparently. Practice has a lot to do with expressing one's potential, hence why people like Tiger and Jordan have/had legendary practice schedules.

Your basketball knowledge is next to zero, The 2006 world championship team didn't have Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett. They also had next to no veterans, the only good players they had were players who only came into the NBA 2-3 years before the event itself like Lebron, Wade, Paul, Carmelo and Bosh.
