i lived about 45 minutes from Koper and less than 2 hours from Ljubljana for several years and crossed the borders regularly. Zagreb was a bit further, but not out of range for a weekend trip. believe me, former-yugoslavia is certainly not bringing up the rear in the race to breed losers.

I've hanged around with enough americans to know how many of them think. I'm not saying that everyone is neceserily bent on success, but the system is such that it puts pressure on a person from a young age and once you're designated to a camp (winner/loser) you pretty much stay there. That's the major difference I think. Of course everyone likes a winner, but over here we have a more relaxed attitude towards it, a person is not put down by others if he's not a star quarterback in highschool or some shit. And btw, Slovenia is not ex yu, it's more like Austria or something. :)

Money often *does* make or brake peoples relationships here. It is worth more than the objects it gets. Even the comparison people/money is somewhat telling. Money stands pretty low on a scale of important things in life, for people outside US. It's not a measure of success. Not the ultimate prize. Even power is not nearly as intertwined with monetary gain as in US.

I watched the demo knowing that something would happen around 4 and a half minutes. I thought maybe walter would be like 8-0 down or something as bad, but nope, up until 4 minutes he was in control, so wtf? Then came those lg kills. I watched the DM6 game first and thought walter was nuts for quitting so soon, especially since he had such good control in the beginning. Then I watched the DM13 game (first game) and realized that walter quitting had a lot to do with how this one played out.

Either he thought kgb was cheating or just overwhelmed by his LG, it carried over to the DM6 game that lead to him just giving up.

I have no idea if kgb is cheating or not. I am so used to seeing good players use the LG like a buzz saw on their opponents (cooler) that I never even questioned his LG while viewing demo.

Either way, it's good to see some new Quake 3 demos & some drama to spice it up. =)

in the demo they say b100.death beated if-22, but it was actually if-22 who beated b100.death on pt4 @ wcg! And if-22 lost to lexer 1-0 on ztn in some final in 2k2 if i recall correctly..
