Danny Carey (Tool) is considered to be one of the best and most creative drummers of our times. His skills are truly amazing and breath-taking. Some think he's overrated, some think he's underrated. Either way, he kicks ass. Here you have a snippet what he can really do: in studio + interview and parabola extended drum solo (must see, amazing). Say what you want, Danny is remarkable. Live = priceless.

The only other drummer I think that is as good as him is Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater.

The best drummer I had ever seen was a blind guy that played for a band called antipathy , really fast and really hard. Kinda odd to see him set up his drums but once he got going he was really unbelievable

I once watched Joey Jordison from Slipknot do like a 10 minute drum solo on a huge rotating platform that tilted on its side n stuff, was rather fancy.

And afaik he was a pretty dam good drummer as well...
