i don't know anything about cricket (and i don't want to), but this scoring system makes me courious.

468 runs for 6 wickets.. which means the team scored 486 runs and 6 people got out in the process. an innings is over when all 10 people get out or 50 overs get bowled. whichever comes first.

a run is when you get to the other wicket iirc

a run is when the two batsmen run across the bowling pitch and reach the other side behind a line(crease). You can run an unlimited number of runs this way, but you will get runned out if you are not behind that line while the ball 'breaks' the wickets.

Other than that you can score from hitting the ball over the boundary (like a home run, eg the ball not touching the ground before its over the boundary) that will give you six runs. If you hit it over the boundary and the ball touched the ground before it does so, you will get 4 runs.

Extra runs you get if a bowler bowls a wide delivery(almost like a ball in baseball) and a noball; when the bowler oversteps the crease when bowling, or bowl a ball at full above waist height or if it bounced and it goes higher than the batsman shoulders more than once in one over(6 deliveries from one bowler). All those will give you one extra run and an extra ball.

Hitting a six or four from a noball will give you that runs + the extra run. If you hit a wide delivery you will not get the extra run or ball.

in baseball when a guy runs past all 4 bases, he goes away. it's not like that in cricket. when you hit the ball in the field and run to the other side of the pitch (where the other 'woodsticks' known as the stumps are) and your partner crosses over too.. it is considered as 1 run. now your partner gets to bat while you wait on the other side. if he hits and you guys cross again.. you get another run and you're up to bat again.

instead of hitting somewhere in the field and crossing the pitch to get runs... you can also hit the ball to the boundaries of the field to get more runs. a clean hit over the boundary line where the ball never touches the ground after leaving the bat and until it crosses the line... gives you six runs. if it bounces/rolls anywhere in the field and heads to the line, you get 4 runs added to the score.

you were right about getting the batsman out. if the bowler (pitcher) hits the stumps while bowling, the batsman is out. if the batsman hits the ball in the air and a fielder catches it before it lands on the ground, he's out again. like in baseball, you can also get out while running between the ends of the pitch.
