Hey guys, i just wanted an opinion on something. This dude is offering me a brand new xbox 1 with a modchip and a western digital 300 gig drive, with over 100 xbox games and 500 snes and 500 nes games on it. For about $550. It also comes with two controllers..

Now its not softmodded so i can't use Live, and i wouldn't have the discs to play live if i switched the modchip off.

So is this still a good deal?

AND could i sell it myself if i bought an xbox, modchip, and 300 gig drive, then cloned his harddrive to mine and installed emulators?

way too much, you can buy xbox for $100 new if not less plus the chips dont cost much now. and downloading all games and emulators wouldnt take long as is free.

could probably build this for under $200 new, infact you can probably find one with the same specs and games etc on ebay for $200

plus hook it upto your home network so you can stream music and films etc to it and use as a media center

I've tried finding them on ebay, but i can't. And doing it myself, i would need the original discs to install it and +100 games installing would take like a week or something...

I don't mind warez for personal/free distribution but making money off the developer for just downloading/ripping it is shit imo.

Look for places that sell pre-chipped consoles or do it yourself.

As far as I know there are a lot of no-solder chips for xbox which basically just clip in and your done. He is asking way more than double of its worth.

Yea, but its not like you need all of them all at once?

Just download the main games you want first, then always have some downloading, and gradually burn the ones you want. The snes games you can download as a pack with all of them there, most torrent sites have snes game packs on them.

Chances are you dont want most of the games he has any way, so just gradually download games you want or think you might like.

Well this is a 300 gig drive and over 100 xbox games.. but i agree it is pretty damn steep. I think i will ask him to lower price, if i get it at all.
