Yea, you just need to fill out normal shit, write your name about 200 times in caps and out of caps, sign the same piece of paper 15 times then declare you are neither James Bond nor Osama Bin Laden and that you don't have any mad cows in your hand luggage.

One thing is that it asks for the address you'll be staying at while you are in the States, so might be good to have that on hand so you can fill out the form easily.

Pro tip: get off the plane asap (being at the front helps) and rush to the immigration place to avoid a 45 minute queue, the B terminal at Las Vegas airport has a tiny immigration section which gets filled in seconds leaving you standing behind the guy you wish you weren't sat next to on the flight, trying to find an interesting thing on the ceiling to stare at so as to avoid talking to him.

The average level of understanding there is likely to be far higher than anywhere else. Poker is an instituition there and americans have been playing it for decades, long before it became trendy in Europe. You're gonna' get worked dude:)

The general level of online play at the same stakes is of a much higher standard than that of las vegas. d3c4y when u get there you will see a lot of crazy gamb00000l0rs (mostly asian) that will prolly spike 10x BB pre-flop raise as standard. If you want to go there and maybe return with some of that 2K ure bringing over just pay attention u will most likely survive the week with some of your bankroll intact and some pretty cool stories.

95% of reads are made from analysing betting actions. 5% of reads are down to physical tells. If you think otherwise, you just haven't played much poker.

The standard of online poker at a specific limit is much, much better than in a live game. I beat $2/$4 NL online pretty handily, and I would be better than 90% of $10/$20 NL live players.

Are you visually handicapped? Half of my post is about the physical aspect of poker. I also said that only a small group of poker players are able to make accurate decisions based on facial expressions of their opponent.

Quake doesn't change when you play it on a LAN. And the additional pressures you talk about are created by yourself. If you get nervous on a LAN then that's your problem. It doesn't change the difficulty of the game itself.

There is however one difference between online and offline that creates additional pressure.

In real life you can usually take as much time as needed to think about a tough decision. On the Internet you get 15 seconds or less otherwise the software will automatically fold your hand.

Also, the players you find in the casinos are overall a lot weaker than the ones you find at the internet games.

You are right that online poker players use third party to help them in their game. I'd be the last person who would deny that as I'm using a program as well. However the program doesn't do anything that a normal player in theory wouldn't be able to do at the poker table. For example; It won't tell you what the best play would be at any give time. Programs that do offer such options are banned.

The programs we use collect our hands in a database and display player stats on the table. You still need to have a good theoretical understanding of poker to imply the stats properly into your game. The edge the program gives to players is that you don't have to pay attention to certain actions because will record and display how often a player puts money into the pot and raises.

Now you are correct. It will be tougher for online players that make the step to live games because they have to adept to a different kind of environment. But this doesn't mean that casino poker is tougher than internet poker, nor vice versa.
