yeah I know that but I'm not really picky when it comes to sound and I was trying to cut costs as much as I can. So I decided I can live with on board audio since I have most of my life.

Personally I can't tell the difference between onboard sound and the really expensive cards, so if you don't either you might aswell save some money.

i agree u can't fell it when u got such logitech crap speakers but honnestly try a M-box sound card with yamaha's speakers and u will hear the difference ;)

For people who only use headphones on their computer it's pretty hard to tell the difference in output quality. The only reason I can't stand onboard sound cards is that the input quality is fucking nasty. They all buzz so loud making it almost pointless for sound input.

Get XFI with a decent amp and speakers. The mp3 reconstruction is really amazing totally worth the money (elite pro version at least)

I've got XFi Music in one of the gaming centres but haven't really noticed that it's there tbh. Then again I guess I don't really listen to music while I'm there. I'll bring in my Shure earbuds next time and try it out.

my integrated soundcard in my acer laptop got more clear audio than my audigy 2 zs in this stationary computer!

so laptops soundcard can be just good!

of course but money was the biggest factor here... If I had $2000 to spend on a laptop it'd be pimped out but I got a pretty good setup for the price I spent... and who am I kidding anyway most the games I play don't need more than a p3 anyway ;).

it's not huge... it's pretty average for a laptop and plus I'm not a weakling so 6lbs isn't that heavy. As for battery power I get over 3hours out of it. If I could justify spending $2000 on a lighter longer lasting laptop I would but I don't like wasting my money so I can be cool. I got my razr for free dammit!

Yeah, I am waiting for the Sony Vaio TX2XP prices to go down a lil' bit or until a cheap used one pops up somewhere. When my dad first got it I was like "nice calculator" but then he let me use it for a while and I got hooked to it. Nothing beats 1.5 Kg and 6+ hours of battery, especially when you have to move around the school a lot. Not quite a gaming rig but i got one at home so i dont care.
