This post isn't really something to be read, but it's just a summary of essential informations about Quake 4. It tends to compile every useful things that I could find about this game here and there.
Of course my article isn't the first attempt of this kind made so you will find links to some older articles/guides as well.

And one more hint about CTF map - spider crossings. Most ppl already forgot about 'bug' in it and prefer version b instead of c... while version from deltactf is the best but mod-oriented.

I thought the only differences are: fixed wall bugs and improved performances @ middle.

Version c has different (too short) item/powerups spawn times that's why it makes def too boosted there.

At the moment, the best way to capture frames is to use FRAPS and a low demo_timescale to avoid fps drops. I still didn't find any tutorial :(

Btw , ive got a question.
For example i am missing a pk file to play the demo , and when ia download zip file of this missing pk ,unziping in it i see theres no pk format file , only some files like :

textures
def
gfx
maps
materials
etc.

So , what shoudl i do with all that staff , if i need a pk file! О_о

pk4 files are compressed files. Basically like a zip. So sometimes when you download a pk4, your internet browser set his file extension to "zip" instead of "pk4" (IE loves to do that). That's why you have no pk4 file in your zip.
Solution: rename the extension of the file you just downloaded from "zip" to "pk4".
