why do you want defrag in ql? what keeps you from playing it in q3?

With defrag on qlive you'd have:
- no cpm movement or buggy (at least for a while til they fix their bugs) cpm movement
- a very, VERY limited amount and variety of maps for that mode compared to what's out there already for q3 defrag.
- it would be a prem/pro only game type

Not to mention they probably wouldn't add things like overbounces and whatnot back into the game. There'd be no way anyone with more than 2 working braincells would pay for qlive defrag, it just wouldn't make sense. Now a defrag type game mode for qlive sure, but thinking we could ever have everything that makes q3defrag awesome in qlive is a pipe dream.

Well people switching from OSP to CPMA to QL (and still saying OSP bestest!!1) already has shown that the braincell count isn't too high.

If CPM physic will be ever in QL , it will be a poor and rip-off implementation because "Hey, let's give Double Jumps to the QL ! Great, just be sure that they will be different from that one who people play 6 years and ofc limit it."

a global highscore system would be awesome though

ROFL. That's a great idea imo. Have some kind of weird flying thing try to catch and frag the defrag guy, if he catches him its game over. Every time you beat the record of the map, the monster gets faster and faster, so u cant ever slow down on runs ;o

how about maps that would circle, and have races like mario kart where you would pick up power ups from time to time like a rl and you could rj with it or shoot someone else : )

I loved the part when there were other players in the background trying to trick and stuff. It made it a lille bit less solo'ish.

Wtf? I actually liked this! I am not a friend of defragging movies but I had to give it a 8/10, which is certainly the highest points I will ever give a defrag movie!

Gfx was really beautyful and the music was brilliant, would give them 10/10. Except for the Eriz Prydz song, but that's just because it's too worn out!

Could id not make it so you can upload maps with no royalty charge w/e, and they would have to put it into the free part of the game; and if you demand a royalty (dont know the right term :S), then it goes into premium/pro to offset cost?

its not exactly hard to implement different physics...its a few cvars.

It's not that easy as well. Currently ID is not allowing even simple content added by anyone , not to say different physics.

I agree that ID are being very draconian about it all; I feel they should open up far more cvars and allow custom maps/content on privately spawned servers; this would make a pro account more than worth it.

I was implying before that it would not be hard for id to change the physics/cvar settings etc, my bad :(

edit: Seems i judged it before i fully watched it, so i felt a bit bored today and so i decided to ESR and for better or worse, nothing good to read, so i found it majored and decided to watch it again, turned my PC volume to 80% and 100% own3d volume, for the sole fact that it had liquid.When i watched it, it was like therapy, i noticed the syncs with drum beats and synths of tunes, it really was something, i was also pressing my headphones against my ears, to feel the drums and then i realized that in-game sounds would've ruined that effect. So as i watched it twice now, in my opinion it deserves a ten.

noob question: how hard is to make good defrag map? from what it looks like, map itself should be as hard as possible but also leave some room for runner creativity, and daaaamn some of those in this movie look good

i couldn't care less about what's 'in' as far as music goes, i just listen to music that i like. i think that the music in this is inspiring and atmospheric (2nd track especially) and fitted the flow of the movie perfectly - which is rare in quake movies. i find dubstep depressing (low resonating tones etc) but that's just me i guess :]

dubstep is about smoking ganja, its suppose to be massive subbass, and slow enough for ganjaman 2 crows, sitting in the trees blazin with godzilla sucking on your balls

One thing, please, use less third person. I dunno, it sort of takes away from how mad the player's execution is and the sense of speed. I also like game sounds but I'm seeing lots of comments here saying otherwise.
