Some people are still playing CPM and might want to move over to QL.

Some people are playing warsow, and I'm pretty sure they would be interested by PQL.

not even talking about the defrag players (like w3sp etc)

While I think that some CPM players might move over if PQL would mimic CPM 1:1 I definitely am sure that no serious Warsow player will move over to QL, they do not have a reason to do so.

why wouldn't they switch to quakelive ? Quakelive has a bigger playerbase, very balanced gameplay, lot of good maps and... ESR :D

gameplay is very different. Warsow is all about movement and lg and rg are ridiculously weak. QL movement is ez and hitscan is arguably dominant.

Some players do play ql tho, like wormy. A friend of mine who used to play warsow a lot tells me wormy does it for the playerbase.

i played warsow too ;) for about 2-3 years

but before warsow i played quake 3, then quake 4 then warsow/cpm then quakelive

Stairs don't feel right, you gain such crazy speed from bhop you don't even need to strafe jump at all etc etc

Yep (but not round-based)! The two main servers have a couple of particular settings though, like you spawn with 3-5 mines to make it harder on the attackers.

I really don't like how the initial strafe jump is slower in PQL than in QL.

Part of me is still really used to quakeworld bunny hops (was almost a decade there), so maybe some of my comparison is from that.

The sidespeed feels off or something. I can't quite put my finger on it. Just that it's easier for me to get more speed off the first jump in the ql ruleset.

It also seems that like for example a 180 RJ off of a wall doesn't work as well as it does in ruleset QL. If I come at it from the side though then it is quite fast. It's like I have to do everything sideways.

the circle jump is different. a LOT different. you can gain almost 2x speed on your first jump after cj if you go straight to bhop midway through your cj.

pql is bad because its not 1:1 cpm

ql is bad because its not 1:1 q3

Why pay for PQL when I can play CPMA for free?

About the only thing I'd like out of a proper PQL is smaller hitboxes and 1:1 cpm physics.

dunno why i would move from wsw to pql, i mean if i want to play quake i'll just play cpm instead of paying for a crappier version of it :p

I exclusively play pql and there is a lot of room for improvement. Quintessential: make it more like cpm and we are set.

Play CPM then. Playing PQL is purposely playing a bad clone with less content, even paying yearly to do so instead of for free.

Most importantly, for some reason the "hot gals playing videogames" from twitch chat play CPM instead of QL.
