nope, the only cfg you can edit if ctf.cfg, and have to set fs_game etc in that. because the fs_game text field in the control panel does`nt work, and its the only cfg that will be run by default because you cant edit the start server script. which the ctf.cfg is set in to start the ./q4ded

and in your fs_game mod folder, you just set your server config to autoexec.cfg and it should autoexec whn your restart the server

seeing as no-one seems to actualy play this i thought it would have been made simple to set up and play.

If you did it right, it'd work.

The reason you get "data out of sync" messages with addon.conf present is because you're running with si_pure 0. But you need that because you've fucked up packaging your game pack so need to copy the .so out of it to make it even load.

no it not, its because i added all the mapdef info into the def/maps.def, the addon.conf causes a conflict, where all other files in the fs_game folder will overwrite all mem entity databases and file paths

and like the rest of the sdk, to run a linux dedicated server, it probaly needs a dedicated build, so it includes winsock2.h which serves no use, just for 1 file

as the console.log has no q4master. query sent

without si_pure, connecting clients will have the wrong si info sent to them if the admin has changed the si config while a game is running or clients are connected.. to fix this, enable si_pure and if a cached key does`nt make the cvarSystem, si_pure will force a map restart so all clients will have the new config

and to fix si_pure i need the engine

and building a linux ded .so can wait, i have to reinstall linux, and i make enough space for q4, then recode some more shit, and just client build on both OS, and have sp/mp/dedicated is 1 dll/so file

and if a download fails, game does`nt check again, you have to go without or delete the mod and re-download it all

I cant get a crew for several reasons: The most prominent being that no one in Australia is dumb enough to play anything related to Q4, but equally important is the fact that no Australian is dumb enough to play on a non-Aus based server.

i only wasted £12 to proove it works, could nt care if it isnt used 24/7, setup you own local server, have a game and find all the netcode glitches and bugs that no longer exists, especially todo with hitscans..

you might have to disable r_skipspecular before playing mp if you dont go fullscreen, it isnt force to 0 in q43a, and remains enabled

all you have todo is spawn a server after you have connected and download the latest version, that nowhere else to be downloaded.. you will not have any problems, it will all just work, if you delete or rename any previous q43a mod dir in quake 4 folder

and no 1 can say q4 sucks or any mod, because q43a is a whole new game

first it will download the gamex666.pk4 with win32/linux driver in, and download window will say failed or canceled, then reconnect and it will download the rest and start playing the game
