Thursday evening saw the conclusion of Jolt's first foray into Quake 4 TDM, our Cup competition bringing together 60 clans from across Europe who competed over the course of the last two weeks to leave just 4 standing at the start of the final night of games.

The higher-profile of the two Semi-Finals saw EuroCup rivals Benelux GUNK and United Kingdom 4K going head to head, both teams not at 100% with GUNK missing SICK whilst 4K were denied Gun's services due to ISP-related problems. GUNK took this match in impressive style, 151-120 (Fragging Yards) and 192-147 (Sandstorm), the second map closer than the scores suggests with GUNK pulling clear over the last few minutes. The other Semi-Final saw Netherlands LKFF overcoming the slender home-server advantage of United Kingdom rB by scores of 142-97 (Fragging Yards) and 160-135 (Sandstorm).

Those resuts set up an all-Benelux final that was shoutcasted by myself, LKFF starting as very much the underdogs and not helped by a couple of ISP-caused disconnects though in all fairness GUNK were clearly the better side as the eventual scores of 195-100 (Edge) and 172-111 (Bloodwork) suggest. Overall it was a very strong showing by GUNK who went through the tournament without dropping a map, 4K's 31 frag defeat being the closest any side got to them and even that was aided by GUNK having a player disconnect during the final minutes.
