edit: why does stand in the autoexec.cfg only fov, musicvolume and allowconsle command? Is there any reason why u did make that?

i'm guessing it's because those commands aren't in the main cfg.

still fps-drops to about 50 :( all the good tweaks are disabled in multiplayer :(

I say it as a "joke response" because my video card isn't compatible :P.. I have friends who said this helped their frames, and thus my screeny shouldn't affect anyones judgement.

well, when it drops to 50 it doesnt feel smooth somehow, and fov 110 made a huge difference

what system specs, details and resolution do u use?

ati 9800XT 128mb (hopefully a x800xt soon)
1gb 3200 ram
320gb hd enz

i run it 90% of the time @ 60fps @ 640*480 low detail

hey i recomend u dont at an x800 card for quake. Ive got one and it doesnt give 60fps constant.

Try going for an nvidia card these run opengl games such as quake better than ati.

for the price of a x800xt u can get a 6800gt or try and get a 7800 if u can get the cash

well it doesnt with even the fastest card available, it seems we have to wait for a pointrelease wich enables us to use vertex lightening, then it should be sorted, even with the x800xt card

that's because your framerate is running below your refresh rate.

seems like all these tweaked cfgs looks all the same, mine is more or less the same. A bit boring since the only thing that differs from one and another is the sens, fov, crosshair and controls.

This config is not very optimized. There is many things that can be turned off....
There is a nice article how to optimize D3 engine !!!!!! All variables exist in Doom3 and Quake4...

After optimizing my cfg reading this article, i've got 20-30 more fps than common low settings in menu...

I used that page while I tweaked the shit out of the game and still I don't get more than like +5 fps from the default low settings. Would you mind posting your cfg that gave you 20-30 fps more?

I just want a cfg that has everything tweak wise.. Performance graphics / enemy model etc etc.. And then just fix the controls urself..

Ive tried alot configs tioday and they make the game jerk even more and feel really shit..

use default config, turn off r_shadows and r_usesimple etc 1

Your probley not get no great FPS as I dont but it seems to run smoother thana shit tweaked cfg,

fps doesnt matter, got geforce 7800GTX

hmm when i load up this config, and try to play online, the game starts whining about:

"Client unknown to auth"

any help would be appreciated, as i cannot run the game without tweaks
