Actually I found adding Spartie for the final of the CB OPEN ctf cup because demon didn't show up a bad idea.
According to the rules it was allowed somehow, allthough I would never allow teams to recruit new players during the playoffs.
I mean spartie was only joining for fun. Just a mercenary for 1 game which sucks for a final.

Besides that they do more coverage then any other league. It's the teams and players that let CB down imo.

I only follow some games so I don't actually participate in the league so please explain why CB sucks so bad :)

CB kicked my team out of EC (despite being in the final for the last 2 seasons) for using backups whereas teams who forfeited like 3 games are still in. It's really the players who let CB down...

check cup page... it will not be standard Duel format but 4 qualifiers and then playoffs... no groups.
And t4 is there again. go for it.

i always liked pt4 but the cup is still far away from beeing interesting / special / what-so-f'ing-ever..
why not make the summer cup a fun cup like it used to be back in the day when ppl actually played for fun.

i know ql has limited "resources" when it comes to non-standart maps, but why not try a map-pool of some at least somewhat playable duel maps, e.g. dm5, t2, ca1 and 3 ?

i am probably not the only one interested in how the "better" players perform on maps they have not played for like 10 bazillion times :)

I only know of one bug that has been really annoying during spring OC.

its not broken, but the system is so annoying and unclear that i cant be bothered with cb anymore until the site gets a makeover

Well i'm pretty sure CB will not get a makeover before Summer Cup sign ups are closed :)

Anyway if the site actually gets a makeover, i hope the layout stays the same and it's only tweaked a little.
I can get to nearly all important pages with only 3 clicks (oh yes the good old site building philosophy).

i have been using web interfaces for so many years now but never have i had such problem finding what i want. simple stuff like checking my schedule for matches, going to a match page etc take me so much time cause i never know how to get there. also i hate the forum match reports and is there a way to get match reminders per mail? the whole site is über frustrating to use...
i dont know... but i have tried to play a few cups on cb and the site was the reason i never wanna go back there

heh... actually its so quite simple, u can go everywhere u want in 2-3 clicks which is by far faster then some of the established gaming leagues which are popular right now....
Schedule on Pending which u always see and match links in Roster.

The only thing that might feel kinda strange is feel when u start using it, but if u try to use it for a game or two , u can see everything is quite self-explanatory imho..

But it`s true that match reminder by mail is not working atm and it is frustrating I must say :/

Like perpetualwar said, Pending page has everything you need as a player or a match arranger if you can't be bothered to check on cup page frequently.
It's designed for mult cup, ladder and clan use.

I think the only thing difficult to find is the irc match channel.


I had to start using cup forum for score reports with the featured duel cup because there were just so many matches per week. It wasn't ideal but it solved quite a lot of problems. For example: mutliple referees could check results and enter them when they had the time, when they did, they posted reply so other referees knew that the topic was handled. Disputes about the score were handled more interactively between players, referees and supervisors (please note that cups don't use conflicts like ladders).

I guess the style caught on when i left.

The usual system was/(is) if a referee was not available the score had to be reported to supervisors by email.

There was some system being developed on where players/teams could enter results themselves but i'm not sure what happend with that. Results had to be confirmed by supervisors at the end tho (due to possible abuse i guess).

well in the end i usually found what i wanted and got it done, but it usually cost a lot of time and nerves ;)
and please work on that e-mail issue. the last cup i signed up for was delayed again and again and i stopped checking at some point and just missed it...

yeah , its already known problem and I hope for it to be resolved soon, but unfortunately Im not sure how fast it will go since lack of active coders on CB :/

But we are working on solving that problem differently so ppl shouldn`t be missing their matches in the future ;)

May I remind you that even in EMS with quite a bit of prize money, in both seasons there were teams who forfeited in playoffs.
First, players should show that they can organize a significant amount of teams that can follow a schedule. Otherwise, it is plain stupid to ask for TDM. No one will give it to you for nothing, you must prove that you're interested in it. And right now, I don't see that QL players want to play TDM. Only a very small minority does.

I don't know about EMS, but Qlive TDM is quite active at the moment, there's many leagues and a lot of praccys.

Besides, I don't think duel is a good exemple of well working tournaments. As far as I know, CB duel open cup is a disaster.

CB Duel OC is a disaster, but we were without supervisor for that cup for quite some time. Only recently we managed to take care of that cup as it should have been done. It`s a shame, but unfortunately it couldn`t be dealt in any other way.

Don't see it as a CB disaster.
As far as I remember, no duel cup of the 'CB format' (tournament that has scheduled matches to be played during months) ever worked.
You did a great job on TDM though.
That's why I'm concerned about this absence of 4v4, since I think the cup went quite smoothly.

Please keep in mind that this is Summer cup, not regular cup season (as Spring and Fall seasons), but more season for experimenting as many ppl are on vacations at the Summer.

Only for that reason we didn`t want to go with 4*4 format, but both TDM and CTF (and CA) will be back for Fall season for sure, so don`t worry about it ;)

uh i doubt you'd find many tdm teams willing to play 4v4 during summer in the first place ;/
