With Dreamhack Winter 2009 just above 3 weeks away, Dreamhack is releasing some updated information about the Quakelive and Quake World tournaments. Both tournaments will be played on 26-27th November. The Quakelive tournament group stages will start at 05:00 CDT, Quake World players at 12:00 CDT. The finals for both games will be played in front of a huge crowd at DreamArena Extreme. All times given below are CET.

- 3 slots in the tournament is reserved for our Qualifications in Norway, South Africa and Serbia
- Due to limited slots in the tournament DreamHack will choose players based on performance in previous tournaments.
- 8 Groups with 4 players, top2 advance to Single Elimination.
- The latest official release of QUAKE LIVE, always available at www.quakelive.com will be used for the tournament.
- All matches except the final will be played in a best of three (3) maps format. The player who reaches two maps won will be declared winner of the match. The final will be played in a best of five (5) maps format.
- Both players will remove one map each from the maplist in best of 3 maps matches.
- Default QUAKE LIVE gameplay settings will be used, including 10 minutes timelimit and 2 minutes overtime periods.

Participating players: A number of players that were previously invited to the Quake Live tournament have, due to different reasons decided to not participate. We have replaced these with players from the pending list, the new Quakelive playerlist can be found below.

- 16 players divided into 4 groups, top2 from each group will advance the single elimination bracket.
- All matches except the final will be played in a best of three (3) maps format.
- The final will be played in a best of five (5) maps format.
- During the groupstage both players will remove one map each from the maplist.
- The following clients will be pre-installed on the tournament computers:
Mqwcl 0.96, FuhQuake 0.31 Build 675, Ezquake 2.0
- No other clients are allowed.
- All games will be played with standard 1on1 server settings.
