Steam is also offering UT3 for free this weekend only. I guess this is a great way to test it for those of us who want to see what all the fuss is about.

No one cares troll. And UT and 2K4 are actually semi-active, everyone's just waiting to come out of the woodwork to give UT3 another chance.

Judging by the quality of this patch, Gears of War 3 should be awesome.

I'm one of the guysd who bought UT3(fall 2007) blindly because UT and UT2004 was good games (still quite different).

When i tryed to play it firt i realised that even my computer which was not a shit was unable to make it run competitively even with the lowest setting.

Now ppl have the required horsepower to make the fun appear again, lets just hope they updated what was needed:
- network code because even with 60ms of ping gets it unplayable.
- core cpu usage because without 2 core about 2.5Ghz the framerate is killed, anyhow your gpu has guts
- configurability because on pc ppl have brains and want to choose the way their game runs
- evolution because a game in which you always the same thing is dead

Enuth for the average newbe that want some fun and the ability to shine a bit or at leat be usefull to the team they fall in.

Not to speak for the hardcore guys and the modders out there that are not gonna invest in a game in no one plays even if its the nicest.

I can run this on FULL EVERYTHING with 1680 X 1050 and I spent no more then 1k CAD on my comp, with a perfect framerate.

UT still has well over 1500 players, UT2K4 has a good 750+, and UT3 holds a few hundred at all times. I mostly play mods and coop, and it's a DAMN good game. It just takes someone with the heart of a true UT fan to really appreciate the game for what it is since good old UT GOTY days. The gameplay is the same expect for the new gamemodes, and everything that ppl complained about it not having has a mutator and a mod to re-add it.

If you don't like UT3 then you were never a UT fan to begin with. The UT net is better off without you.
