I have huge lags with sound/video, on everything - MPC, VLC, WMP. I'm using K-Little Mega Codec Pack and my pc should handle it, so any advice how to fix it?

Quit worrying about codecs and install VLC which is a clever small program that can play nearly everything. There are also other advantages, for example you can play unfinished downloads. You can check the quality already after 5mb downloaded of legal.movie.[cam].XVID.avi instead of getting 700mb in shitty quality.

tbh, id rather see people who encode these videos use a more accessible codec for both video and audio. granted he probably updated his ffdshow 10 years ago for the last time, but the audio doesnt work for me and i just installed a june 25 ffdshow tryout release. (video works ok'ish in mpc, audio does not. audio works in winamp but video doesnt obviously, odd)

anyway. telling everyone to dl vlc player is retarded, try using the most used codecs instead, like mp3 or aac, no idea what odd audio codec is used. h264 is just fine for video (update ur ffdshow Dolvich : p)

oh and the video was enjoyable, simple yet effective. i hardly play promode but its <3 especially to watch skilled people.

edit: nevermind, audio does work eventhough ive never heard of FAAC. when i open an mp4 file it always seem to open the original windows media player classic from windows itself, not my own mpc wich does actualy play everything perfectly fine. if anyone can tell me how to get rid of windows' mpc lemme know plx :x

i don't know why you posted this comment in here. you suggest exactly those two codecs he used for this movie :) video is x264 and audio AAC.

FAAC is the opensource implementation of AAC which he used for encoding.

yep lol, thing is though, when i first opened the file (.mp4) it took the original windows media player classic wich doesnt seem to work with it at all. i still dont know why wmpc gets opened for mp4 files and not just my own mpc.exe :/

either way even if it does not apply to this topic, ppl should use proper codecs to encode videos, and ppl should use a decent video player :P

oh and smt else, the video does actualy stutter a litte bit... its like the video runs on 95% speed, and after 5 seconds i get a hiccup and it catches up with the audio again. mpc.exe + ffdshow from 5 days ago. amd 4400+ cpu etc...

anddddd last but not least, i havent got a clue why it does not work for u Dolvich, sorry :P

yeah same here for the stutter.. though i _know_ it's my cpu and the high bitrate this movie utilitizes (amd64 3700+ & no coreavc)

The frags weren't spectacular, save a few, but the editing is nice and clean and I enjoyed the song.

I had playback lag on two different computers, but it was flawless on my Q6600 rig, (no video lag, all audio was in sync).

I use the K-Lite Mega Pack 4.0 which includes Media Player Classic and also fixes any broken codes which you may already have on your computer.

I think the x264 codec is just very cpu intensive or my p4 3.0 just isn't cutting it anymore.
