from what i've seen comparing the old and the new trailers they're dumbing down and kiddying the game to open it up for a wider audience

Sounds like an interesting idea...Will be checking this out. Nice to see that some game designers are willing to do stuff that is a bit different and out there!

Say what you like about The Sims, it was different, interesting and succeeded. We need more designers willing to push the boundries and do things that have not been looked at before.

What's better yet, Red Alert 3 is announced, yeah!!! Which will prolly suck arse just as C&C3, nooo!!!

I think I'm going to wait a month or so after it comes out before buying it. Robin Williams made it look so fun - but like everyone else said, I can't imagine it being fun long enough to be worth the price.

boring as fuck, installed, played, deinstalled, most overhyped game of the century, repetitive, boring, abysmal.

Yeah I did, went from cell stage (which is most fun) to space age in 5 hours. Once you enter the creature age it gets repetitive, either you make friends or kill everything, with killing being the obvious easier choice, as making friends is nerve breaking as you fail more times as succeed, and being a carnivore somehow forces you into killing creatures to get food.

The creature creator is fun to fiddle around for few times, later you avoid it as a pest as it gets tedious, besides all the parts you add to your tank, airplane, ship, ufo give you only invisible +damage, speed, charm, armor bonuses and aside of that are purely cosmetic, let's say you put 10 different guns on your tank, they will increase you +damage, but they wont have an active role in the game, i.e. the tank will still fire his generic beam, no matter if you have a single gun or it or 20, which defeats the purpose of even designing that thing. Invisible bonuses on items for such games are so 1990.

Same with the space ship, I added like 3 different Earth destroying laser on that thing, 3 missile banks, 5 plasma cannons, and when I was done, the game told me my spaceship is unarmed, until it offered me a mini laser for "surgical" removal of infected species, that laser upgrade is again merely an icon you click, it's not even visual represented on your spaceship.

Most overhyped game of the century, and yes I guess it will receive great reviews after all, cause of the hype as so many crap games before.
