well i am no trickjumper but i can understand trickjumpers switch to warsow ... you got quite some more possibilities with the warsow movment.

maybe true, but you don't really notice it in this/these wsw movies.

warsow is just at the beginning (version 0.21 beta) and the community is therefore really small, but it get supported from the development team, q3 not anymore

anyway, there was some situations when the warsow movement was used in the movie (eg. 180° turns with dodging or walljumps)

and the biggest problem of q3, u cant buy it almost in no shop, especially in germany, because it's banned

the ones who has it, got sometimes the problem that they cant join a server (mistyped cd key, cd key already in use... etc.)

warsow u can easily download and play. the movement is also for everyone, because to handle all possbilities on a high level needs more skill then u need for quake3. it's the some plus a few more. also beginners can play it, because they can use the dodging and wall jumps, they just need to press a button

there r no reasons why someone of the movement scene should switch to quake3 (maybe the moviemakers, dunno about the possibilities of it, but not the players)

these maps are really good for tricks, thats why they use them, and warsow has the added bonus of being able to use q3 map files in warsow, so why not use them...

ye ut2k3/4 community idd thats true they use it, not for tricking though and it's completly different. Altough i don't like it either that they just made a map of Quake 3. But thats just because ut2k3/4 maps sucked big time. If you look at UT1 for example, it's all own made maps, so it's not the "UT" community, just ut2k3/4, which suck.

still they are doing the same tricks as in quake 3, except ones or twice they are walldoding but you don't see it, untill the camera turns to a good position.

Let me put it this way, the only time "i" liked the tricks is when it was on own warsow maps, like the green one with multiple walldodges en closerange rocket jumps. That was really fast and looked really new and skilled.
The rest is just the same kinda tricking as in quake 3 but in quake 3 it's done harder imo (last few movies) and it just looks better. So keep the big maps with the same trick jumping in quake 3 and make your own style of warsow jumping in that game. Like the ones on the green map etc.

But this is just my opinion other ppl will think differntly about it. So lets not argue :D

You have a point :), but it's a combination of different things; the lack of any warsow tricking maps at all, the newness of the tricking scene (it's small and new, so q3 as a reference is no surprise). Let's wait till it develops and progresses more :).

You have a point. My biggest concern with that movie was the abuse of 3rd person and freefly cams, I'm not a trickjumper, I don't know the maps so I have quite a hard time getting the tricks and runs and how good they are without seeing them with a 1st-person POV.
But there is also a clear lack of use of War§ow's own possibilities. It indeed often looks very much like a Q3 defrag movie.

Still it's a decent movie with a lot of work put in it, the quality is very good, the editing decent. But I would have probably liked it better with some more War§owish moves and most of all, more 1st-person.

As much as I like Q3, it doesn't really have a future. It costs $$$ to buy, is hard to find in stores, it's not being actively developed, and because of that you're not going to get the precious few new people who are willing to play a game like Q3. Worse, the only person who is working to make free Quake 3 resources is a total tard and hates pro gaming (which is, to him, anyone who uses a FOV over 90), and won't go out of his way to make things like CPMA work. Plus his models look like gargoyles and capcom character ripoffs. >_< And who knows how far off Severity is and if it will be any good.

Warsow is free, is being actively developed, is more than just the same old deathmatch game, and is getting higher quality and more polished with each subsequent beta release. It has only been out of alpha for less then a year, the movement has been set in stone only as long as that, the weapons are still undergoing modification and the number of maps provided is a little sparse, especially if you're a fan of TDM or CTF. For wSw to get as much attention and love as it has under those circumstances, you know it has to be something special.

And if it doesn't convince you now, take another look when 0.3 comes out, because that release is going to make waves, trust me. =) But to return to your original statement, doing trickjumping in warsow is good because it shows off what the game is capable of. If a free game that's still in beta can be shown to be almost as capable as the mighty Q3, isn't that a *good* thing?

People like pushing them selves with the games physics, it takes physical skill and so the players are never running out of goals to meet and many practice trickjumping to improve their movement abilities to use when fragging. So if there is no point to trickjumping.. Then what is the point in fragging? No matter what you do it is still just a game, a device for entertainment.
I'm not sure if you play warsow, of have attempted any of the things in the video in warsow but you have to attempt it to appreciate their abilities to pull them off.
*that said my download isnt finished so I have yet to watch it*

Like fragging, tricking is fun for some people.

try to do some tricking for yourself and you'll notice how hard it is, that's how I got some respect for the tricking-guys :)

Hey hey, calm down guys.. I never said I didn't respect the skills or believe that it''s extremely hard what these guys pull off.
I''m just telling that I find it a bummer that these kind of tricks are hardly used in any frag movies. Using these movement skills in fragmovies would definately add value for me, though all the tricking guys remain with the "tricking only".
I guess everybody has got their own hobby, and I''m just pissed because so few good fragmovies appear here, since I F5 the movie page A LOT :)

ehm... who mixed the music in this movie? It's a total mess... 2-3 tracks playing at the same time and not even synched? I had to check winamp several times to see if i had something else playing.

you probably heared both audiotracks at the same time ... weird :-/ try to play it with vlc or mediaplayer classic (you can select between the two tracks)
