I can't get over the fact, cause I don't see it like you.

He doesn't have any contract binding him to a team.
He only entered "normal" tournaments which every casual gamer can enter as well.
He is a e-sports celebrity. And he just gets invited because of that status. If Michael Jordan showed up for some special event, you wouldn't say he is active again.

i really don't have anything against him, and i don't understand why i'm even arguing this, but let me just reiterate my point and say that you don't have to be sponsored or sign any contracts to be a professional gamer.

Well, give an alternate definition of professional then.
Concerning sports, a professional is someone who makes a living of it. By that standard, only very few of the so called e-sports professionals would be true professionals.

Even if you stretch the term professional a bit in the e-sports sense, a player would still need to focus on playing FOR MONEY, with sponsorships and contracts being evidence of that.

with that definition there's probably 5-6 "real professional" duelers in the world. yet we consider a lot more to be professionals, right?

this is e-sports, and so we shouldn't use the word "professional" in a literal term. i know people who pay their way to these tournaments out of their own pocket, they aren't sponsored, yet they compete with these other "real professionals" and in the end place well and get money out of it.

and so i personally, whether you like it or not, consider anyone who can compete with those "real professionals" and win money from gaming tournaments a professional.

for me a professional is someone making a living out of what the do.
If you have to have another income source to sustain your gaming ambitions then you are an amateur in my book. Being an amateur does not say anything about how good you are or are not.

becks is spot on, to get on tv you need to be a known role model / a known personality of that specific demographic group of interest. Many people live the rest of thier lives from thier past time success when they were active, whether it be sport, knowledge or any type of skills.

Yes, that's the point actually. Although we have fixed that and french kids begin to learn english earlier nowadays than we used to, it is common knowledge that it is best to begin to learn foreigner languages as soon as possible, while we usually only began around age 11 in France.
And it showed, despise what M. Anonymous has to say about this. :)

As far as I know there was some trouble about it. Nlz said that the match was inofficial because there was no score submitted of the pre-match but the final was played nevertheless. Imo he was really the one who deserved to win it but i dont care anyway because both of them are would be going to be bashed by vo0 :D...

But i prefer skinheads to be bashed and found him more sympathic.

I am not getting paid to do this. Professional gaming means that you can live on the money you make from gaming. While ofcourse I still live on what I have made in the past, currently I am not under any contract nor am I doing any radio/tv interviews nor do I get any form of payment. I am just going to Germany to play some games and hopefully alot of people will see it and will want to play the game too, and you know, they can cause it's free and installed within 10 minutes :). Also, I'll be seeing neok and zyz which I haven't seen in ages, which is odd cause last year I basically saw them 1 week a month.

voo I think your stupid sometimes and don't try to grasp opportunities. I think you should capitalise on the moment that you should of during the world tour times. Your getting a reputation and is rivaling fatalitys, whethers its just for just cpma style games or not. Now im sure that with some clever self promoting or by using a bit of your pennys for a PR guru or agent type person to promote you to sponsors, im sure there can be a european version of fatality. Im not saying its easy, nor am I saying that its even possible, but theres no harm in attempting. But at the end of the day I suppose its whatever you want.

Most Dutch ppl I meet are speaking a hand full of languages, such as english, french, german and dutch. Because noone in the world really speaks dutch, thus they have to learn one of the world dominating languages. (Well 1.3 Billion ppl on the world speak chinese, but this does not count - eh).

Vo0 movement was much better then Ekse's tbh. You can see that Vo0 played allot more games then Ekse did.

Nice game tho, was a pleasure to watch.
