The World Series of Video-Games (WSVG) crowned its first champion in Louisville Kentucky this weekend in the form 19 year old Italian, Alessandro “Stermy” Avallone. His victory over Rafik “LoSt-CaUsE” Bryant marks the first major tournament win for Stermy since his breakout last year playing Painkiller in the CPL World Tour.

With the WSVG running two tournaments on the same weekend, one at Lanwar in Kentucky and the other at Dreamhack in Sweden, the best Quake 4 player is still yet to be determined. But as the tournament season is upon us, it will not be long until the results of a single international tournament point us in the right direction. And if Lanwar is anything to go by, the season will be rife with surprises.
