This is a modern ioquake3-based client to play Quake III Arena mods.
Differences from ioquake:
- significant memory usage reduction for dedicated servers (2x-6x)
- mod-independent multiview protocol temporary N/A due to new snapshot system
- server-side multiview demo recording temporary N/A due to new snapshot system
- no external dependencies, no SDL (and related regressions)
- native ALSA support for linux
- faster and safer QVM (Quake Virtual Machine) - means higher FPS, less lags
- reworked dedicated console for win32
- server auto-restart for long non-stop game series (no need for restart scripts at all)
- support for cpma/cnq3 color codes (8,9,a-z) in console
- unlagged raw mouse input (win32, enabled automatically for \in_mouse 1)
- \dlmap, \download - fast and easy map downloads from ws.q3df.org (by default)
- \cl_conColor [RRR GGG BBB AAA] - custom console color
- \in_minimize hotkey to fast minimize/restore (windows-only)
- \r_neatsky - nopicmip for skyboxes
- \r_ext_multisample 0|2|4|6|8 - multi-sample anti-aliasing
- \r_bloom
- \r_dlightMode 1|2 - new per-pixel dynamic lights, requires opengl 1.4 (radeon 8500+, FX5200+) - means it will work event on hardware from 2001
- \varfunc - advanced cvar modifier
- many other bugfixes and improvements

Recent additions:
- Vulkan renderer
- Client country detection on server side

Major server features:
* configurable ruleset system - allows you to modify almost everything in the game (osp*,ql,instagib,cpm* rulesets included)
* competitive features (team lock/unlock/g_speclock/etc)
* advanced ban/notify system
* improved voting system
* rotation system
* ability to modify/replace map entities
* reworked FreezeTag
* advanced bot aiming skill (w/airrockets) for rl/bfg/pg
* vanilla(baseq3)-compatible

Major client features:
* very configurable HUD with useful in-game hud selection menu
* much improved demo UI, fixed server browser, singleplayer fixes
* many useful cgame cvars to setup enemy|team model|colors, hitsounds, effects etc.
* improved gfx smoothness (in combination with 1.32e)

Hello everyone :)

I would like to announce Quake3e there - it is my own client/server modification based on ioquake3.r1160 with upstream patches applied.

It can be downloaded from there

This modification aims to be fully compatible with all mods while trying to be fast, reliable and bug-free.

Key stuff from ioq3 team:
- fast server downloads + http/ftp client redirection
- countless security, performance and bug-fixes
- much improved autocompletion, persistent console command history
- \r_flares, \r_anaglyphMode, \r_greyscale, etc.

Modifications (mine and requested):
- highly optimized QVM (Quake Virtial Machine) for x86 CPU
- reworked win32-dedicated console
- unlagged (raw) mouse input with overflow protection
- additional bind keys (windows,scrollock etc), ability to press all keys [excl.Esc] during demo playback
- \in_minimize hotkey (easy hide/restore, win-only)
- keyboard behavior equal for windows and linux clients
- fast client-side downloads via smb (windows shares)
- server auto-restart for long non-stop game series
- GTV-compatibility switch (sv_levelTimeReset)
- improved gfx smoothness, hardened qvm filesystem layer
- some additional speed optimizations and bugfixes
- ALSA support
- \dlmap, \download - fast and easy map downloads from ws.q3df.org (by default)
- \cl_conColor [RRR GGG BBB AAA]

Third-party/borrowed:
- \r_bloom
- some CPMA sound fixes

Windows version doesn't require any extra dlls to run, linux client may require libcurl/libasound for corresponding functionality
