CPMA CTF Stats - Feb 2005 to May 2015 (2 comments)
Posted by TheMafia @ 19:22 CDT, 18 March 2016 - iMsg
Work in progress
Official Source:

Google Docs Copy:

TourneyCPM Article (look for updates here)

Ive played CTF for as long as I can remember playing Quake. At one point I felt the need to record everything. Autorecord ftw. This was in 2005, I have kept my quake folder intact since then, including all the stats files from CPMA during that time. I finally found a way to manually parse the stats files and capture only the CTF games, and thus in combination with a players' name.

There are two sections to this sheet:
1. Full stats 2005-2015 (2 slots not fully taken and can be replaced)
2. Stats from the point I started attacking only 2012-2015. (I will be ok with replacing up to 5 players from the first section)

The rest is explained in the document.

The video series and the respective score sheets can be found at TourneyCPM

As a wrap up of 2013 and its results on CPM CTF I have noted down and made videos of some attacking success on the following maps. Two wins and one loss, full of capping and good games. I chose these games because both I attacked well enough and one or both teams played as a team effectively.

q3wcp1 - everyone should know this map by now, but few know how to make it easy for themselves
q3wcp9 - common map
q3wcp14 - common map

Part 3: TCPM Startup Defrag Config Collection:
I hear about and experience a lot of settings issues when setting up defrag from scratch.

So as part of the start up pack im going to host in the future i'd like to include a collection of defrag configs from the players that are active currently.

If you have a config you think is good for getting started or even include some awesome features you think ppl should not go without...

then upload it here:

TCPM Config Upload Utility
Use this file naming scheme please: (see below for naming cfg's inside this zip) (revision, same goes for config names)
YourName.cfg (If you only post one file)
YourName_pro.cfg (features that wont make sense to noobs, but you find useful as an experienced defrager)
YourName_basic.cfg (Noob friendly config)

Once a file is on the server it cannot be changed or overwritten
PM me if you want a file deleted

The collection of configs will be available here until the pack is released:

'What you need to install CPMA'

I've followed through what new comers would have to get when following the instructions and made a single zip package.

This does NOT include pak0.pk3, but thats easy enough to find and the instructions tell you how to get it.

I have also uploaded some videos to youtube which sample CPM CTF from an attackers perspective, these can help you get started into playing pickups on irc/discord.

TCPM CTF Starts May 2nd + Schedule/Rules (32 comments)
Posted by TheMafia @ 18:21 CDT, 28 April 2009 - iMsg

The European Division of the TCPM CTF Opener '09 is ready to begin! The map list, and seeds/brackets will be finalized May 2nd. First matches can be played between May 3rd and May 9th. This is last call for team registration, no more teams are accepted after May 1st. The Free-Agent CPM Player List can help both players and captains.

The North American Division is not quite ready for their cup yet. The plan is to get it started mid way through the EU Cup to really hitch up the momentum of competition.

Speaking of momentum, two new tournaments are in works to begin shortly after the CTF Cup TCPM 1v1 June '09 & TCPM TDM Long Strech (Late June). Both tournaments will be available to all continents.

TCPM CTF 4v4 - Team Registration Open (19 comments)
Posted by TheMafia @ 19:47 CST, 27 February 2009 - iMsg
Team registration is finally open, EU seems to be ahead right now, and more teams on the way. NA players need to get their teams back into shape, but more importantly to create teams. The teams that form now will have a chance at getting themselves into international recognition. I do not plan to fall short of that myself with Team Kevegm, and I know many that are beyond my skill.

A few teams in NA are in record still a team, and I'm expecting good performance from them when the time comes, but to keep up with them, training with your new team is top priority.

When deciding what the next TourneyCPM tournament was going to be, CTF was at the top of the list. But since the CTF teams still need some time to rally up, we decided to run a 1v1 tournament meanwhile. And the sign-ups are already open to both North Americans and Europeans players. This will be a DMM4 Tournament in preparation for the CTF tournament in January.

The maplist is not final and suggestions can be made on IRC @ #tourneycpm.

We want to open 2009 with a big 4v4 CPM CTF tournament, held in the name of all the people who started and evolved the CPM CTF community. This tournament will be held in North America and Europe simultaneously but separately. If you would like to admin this tournament for your respective continent, or if you can help us finding sponsors for prizes: message me on ESR or on IRC #tourneycpm. The sign-ups date will be announced in the future.

The international super finals will be held on the United States of America New York City and United Kingdom London servers. One round on each to make it fair for all.

:: Schedule
The TourneyCPM series schedule has been established for the next three months:
Late November: 1v1

Mid January: NTF

:: Updates
There has been quite a few updates in terms of admins and reps, here are the updated lists:

If you wish to influence how this series unfolds, do not hesitate to message me or any of the admins on esr ESReality or mIRC #tourneycpm.

:: Shoutcasting
Another exciting piece of news is that we have found a shoutcaster for the events! Canada Luis "lsv" Sastre will be screaming his lungs out over the event and don't be surprised if he Dj's too. MaverickServers will be hosting the shoutcasting as well. lsv is looking for a partner for the event, he has a few people in mind, but if you think you are up to the job, message him or me in the channel.

Last but not least, the website is being forged soon, only a few weeks to work on it, so the essentials first! Hosting is being arranged as you read.

TourneyCPM 1v1 & 4v4 CTF (57 comments)
Posted by TheMafia @ 23:56 CDT, 28 October 2008 - iMsg
Currently from the depths of CPM, the order of the tournaments has been set: the 1v1 tournament will be the opener, followed by the first CTF tournament since the teams are out of touch and need to re-group and the individual players are on the rise. The feed back has been good so far, but a lot more is needed before the tournaments begin. TourneyCPM is looking for NA/Euro admins and representatives. To get a position you simply have to message an admin on esr ESReality or mIRC #tourneycpm. Note: the maplists are still not set.

Three groups exist: Seeders, Admins & Representatives. Representatives being a new group who are influential/active players in each community, who will represent the stated parties, in terms of rules, scheduling and other communal actions.

At the end of each grouping->tournament->final for each Continent, there will be International Seeding combining 7-10 top scoring players and teams from each continent. Hosting and website are being arranged for the tournaments, with community building features, team sites, team private pages, powerful admin tools, and demo/short movie hosting. The search for sponsors starts now, with prizes or advertising as the options. Message me for opportunities in this regard, sponsors and sponsorship reps alike.

I sometimes post random demos of me playing CPMA VQ3 1v1, just for the fun of the match not the win or the gain in rank.

And i want to see more of everyone playing those and posting random pu matches, telling about the match and what was we dont always watch the pro's and let them dicate how we play.

Find your self, As I am finding myself, and post them here.

My own attempt at boxing in the enemy to where i want him, with no armor or mega timings...just moving with his movement..and guess what items are to be picked up. Im obvisously not perfect...but i like where im headed.

How to play back Q3 demos

So i decided to record me playing some rocket arena 3, in the way the community is now, turns out that it was all in my favor. Mankind was playing(the best ra3 player i have encountered over the last 2 years)

So this is what you can expect to see (server not packed), this day in age of RA3. Dont get inpatiant. Good fights, good game for all the players in there that day.

I have something to add to this whole theory of how this works....

When you are a nub:
u dont think about anything you are doing are just reacting....

"Instinct" thusly "beginners luck"

When you start learning the game:
U lose focus from your reaction and redirect it to active thinking in this case ...learning a rule of the game or a new physics feature, graphics settings on so forth

When you get into it:
At this point you have played in active thinking mode that has been writing new "code" to your instincts, then you start slowing trusting your self to let your instincts take over ....warmup.......

When in warmup as a biginner:
Here you are going back and forth on instincts and active, testing and editing the code ofyour instincts, adjusting sens, adjusting on....

When in warmup ...later...:
Here you start experimenting with how focused you are on instincts, letting it take you furthur and further out of reality and into the game,(carefull here, when you get too high and you've been at this stage for a long time, it can actually swallow you whole and you actually become IN the game, happend to me today ...fucking scary feeling .....anyways moving on...)

When in warmup ..Commited:
This is where the elite sit, a platoe i myself step on less then more in the last month, kinda holding my self more basics rather then moving on to advanced jsut yet. ( im talking mostly warsow, and quake 3 i my play ALWAYS game 5 years now) - on this are able to let your body completely soak in the warmup and play there as if it was normal(btw think about that being like the base for the next steps as listed here, but only in "warmup only" mode) - im yet to see the full steps involved in this area for im quite new to it. GG'S :>

Rachal and Games (57 comments)

Anyone else find that once a girl enters your life, your appeal for games goes down. Now when i say that some of you might be thinking 'oh no, the girls got him under control' but im saying my WANT for the game has gone down.

Now you must know that, im actually in love with this girl, no ooh ahh puppy love, i mean the real love the one that cannot be judged by society because its beyond it. And if you feel it you know what i mean.

Rachal, is my love, since i met her my game time per week has dropped by about 20-30 hours. I can no longer play games if something between us is unsettled and so on. Now the crazy thing is that she does not like a settle relationship ...she always wants something to be a little wrong she doesnt want the perfect relationship i offer her...and im fine with that ...

So when that happens, i usually find my self waiting for her to get back to me or something of the sort, while in ra3 or something repetative that i can stop at any time, you prolly see how my game has not much fullness to it now aday...I do still endulge myself in some OSP PU's a few times a week but sometimes i cant play that either....even if i am actually gonna get picked ....(btw im flag and im getting good at it LET ME PRACTICE!) :P

Well i'll leave you readers at that point, see what brain activity i can give you from that.
