How to play back Q2 demos

After installing Quake 2 to watch the purri demo from QuakeCon, I decided to look for other Q2 demos and came across this pub free for all where Thresh is aliased as homey. Of course he owns like most demos featuring elite players against mere pub mortals, but seeing that not alot of demos feature thresh's pov, (most are third person behind the back) I enjoyed just watching his movement and play style.

id Games "Remixed" (40 comments)

John Carmack: I thought it would be kind of neat if we took the DOOM renderer, and we had a team take previous games-don't touch the game, just revamp it graphically. Just take Quake II, and just use the DOOM engine to make brand new graphic models and everything. But don't spend time messing with the gameplay because we know that is pretty good. Just release it as Quake II Remix with brand new graphics technology and sell it at a middle-level price instead of a boutique price.

That quote from john Carmack sounds like a really great idea & I hope they really consider it. Imagine the nostalgia of playing the original Quake in all it's glory with an updated look, but keeping the fast pace gameplay. I would buy all the games again & I'm sure the remixed games would get a huge following.
