SC2 Ready Action! show by GOMtv is bringing you the first official confrontation of KeSPA and GSL players. The games be played every Monday at 04:00 CDT. Team and player names will be anonymous until Match 3.

There has been no English announcement yet and still no news of the stream for this being available outside Korea, but hopefully GOMtv won't disappoint, specially since their previous SC2 Ready Action! vods are available for everyone to watch.

OSL SC2 Prelims (53 comments)
Posted by esdf @ 07:26 CDT, 27 June 2012 - iMsg
From what you all might know, the current tving OSL that's airing is the last Brood War OSL ever. The OSL is moving on to SC2, along with the KeSPA teams, so here are the groups for the prelims. Only the best guy in each group qualifies. Four players have been seeded based on their GSL results, international results and current streak. Note that these prelim groups are only for GSL/SC2 players, the KeSPA players will have their own prelims.

For brackets please check Team Liquid, seems ESR has some problems formatting Korean letters. :(

Update: KeSPA preliminaries to be held on July 19th. Updated the post with qualified players as well. Check out the more detailed results on Team Liquid.

The last Brood War OSL is live now, RO8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_e...5ok2V8Je_w

Currently was a showmatch between Reach and July (which I didn't know until I saw Legends Match banner, but by then I was already daydreaming of those two raping OSL once again).

More coming ;)

Schedule: Passed

It's been 5 weeks since we've started our playQUAKELIVE CTF series and we are finally at the end of our road, and it's going down on Sunday, June 3rd @ 11:00 CDT.

We would like to thank all the teams that participated in the qualification rounds, even if they were just for points and seeding. Next we'd like to thank our sponsors, SGL and Twitch.TV, for making these events possible and providing the prize purse for our teams to fight for.

Update: The playQUAKELIVE EU CTF Series are now officially over, and we'd like to congratulate cup_gold Europe Unknown, cup_silver Europe Pros of Pain, cup_bronze Europe 0506 and 4th place finishers, Europe Discord. Thanks for the participation and showing us some good games. As far as vods and demos go, keep an eye out on Solar Gaming League, as they will host the vods and the demos from ALL of the cups (well, demos not so much, but all the vods will be provided by them). One final and biggest thanks goes to Solar Gaming League, as without them we couldn't have possibly done this series. Thanks a bunch!

Update 2: The vods of all the cups in this playQUAKELIVE season (NA duel ones included) will start popping up on YouTube Solar Gaming League's YT channel from this Thursday, so hit the subscribe button to get notified when vods go up!

if anyone's interested, i've taken the liberty to rip all the thegdshow vods and put it in 1 place,

so if you like the show and don't feel like browsing through twitch or using a browser to watch, just click here for vods.

i didn't re-encode the vods, merge, split, or anything of the sort. what i might do is merge the p1(...)px parts, because they're the same day of streaming. also, i've no idea how fast i'll update the archive, probably right after the show ends (if i'm around, if not then in 1-2 days).

next on my to-do list is watching thegdshow (& other twitch streams) from mplayer/vlc/whatever.

you can also expect vods of other quake tournaments, mainly the ones ran by myself and csn for this playql thingy we're doing.

playQUAKELIVE EU CTF Points Cup #3 (12 comments)
Posted by esdf @ 15:38 CDT, 13 May 2012 - iMsg
With two of the cups behind us, we're approaching a halfway point of the CSN playQUAKELIVE EU Series. We've taken a break this weekend, due to the Mother's Day and all the other uninteresting stuff that's been going on, and we're more then happy to announce that the Points Cup #3 will be kicking off next Sunday, May 20th at the usual time, 08:00 CDT.

To the teams that already competed in our cups, sign yourselves up again to cement your spot for the Grand Finals. To the teams that have not played yet, it's 5 minutes till midnight for you if you plan on competing for some of the cash we want you to take off of our hands.

Even though the last QL update featured an addition of a new map, Camper Crossings, it will not be included in the map pool for the remainder of the qualification cups, but you will be able to vote if you want it in the Grand Finals or not, so stay tuned.

As far as coverage is concerned, nothing new there. If you're in just for the spectating part, make sure your browser is pointed to Level Up TV for some of that United Kingdom zoot (and his Brittish posse) awesomeness.

Oh yeah, make sure you idle in our IRC channel, mIRC #csn.ql, we need some love.

2gd wants to make a fps? (33 comments)
Posted by esdf @ 14:59 CDT, 26 April 2012 - iMsg
well, i've heard on the first GD show that jay ran into some problems with getting the funding for a fps game, think the sum mentioned was around $/€2m, and that no one is willing to dish out the investment.

anyway, found a nice site recently, where projects go to seek founding, best example of this is probably http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2.

so maybe jay would be interested in getting investment for a new fps title this way :)

Is there a way to export/transcode ql demos to a video format simply using command line interface, no gui, no nothing? I'd need it to be able to convert demos to videos on server, instead of uploading huge raws to the server.
