In his stream 125 he said, that with this new patch QC becomes less casual and closer to QL, because less speed, less accel, ID removed "no strafe jump" technique for noobs. Those who not understand it on reddit forum, can make something horrible with themselves.

Well, but we all know that every pro: Cooller, Cypher, Base, Agent, Rapha said that there is no item control in QC. Just MH and RA. Also you can't be 100+ with only green armors. No yellow armors. 30 sec or 15 for noobs. Every weapon OP(even MG and NG).

So...Is Zoot Tim's whore? May be ID asked him to said on his stream something good about game? otherwise they don't approve his person as commentator on QuakeCon?

If Zoot not whore, then he is an idiot who don't know QL, right?

Maybe you believe more to him than to our pro players?

One of the first Warsow leagues with monetary prizes is now official. The Warsow Duel Championship series will host events all over Europe, starting with Sweden. Who is the best dueler in this fast-paced, tactical and addictive FPS game? The 2 duelers who gets the chance to compete will both win money regardless of their placement, but who will finish 1st, taking home the majority of the prize pool and the rights to call themselves the master of Swedish Warsow?

Prize pool is split as seen below:

1st: 1,000 SEK (~122 USD)

2nd: 500 SEK (~61 USD)

Hopefully WDC will also host online regional tournaments in other parts of Europe, to assemble the best dueler from many different countries. This, however, depends a lot on cash donations from players and if people are still interested in competing.

The competitors of the Swedish WDC will be updated soon.

Demo of the duel match will hopefully be uploaded afterwards.
Let's hope its going to be a blast.

Tim Willits has sales Data Base. He can see what Champions have a low sales. For example Clutch has low sales, Nyx - normal sales.

How he can sell his Clutch?

Yeeee! patches!

He can make some Champions super strong!

So, what about Champions balance?

For example, you are happy with patch(you noob). And you have Clutch. Everything ok? Yes, until next patch! On the next patch your Clutch will be nerfed. And you must buy another imba Champion!

But you smart, and you have bought a whole game in Steam with all Champions. Alright, noob! There are many players who has not bought whole game , and for those players Tim will continue to make unbalanced patches.

Forever unbalanced game! You all must play imba Champions which you don't like! Look at proplayers pick's from patch to patch (all time imba champions). Raisy and Cypher? Raisy - Clutch and Sorlag, Cypher with Slash! gg wp Cypher!

And they can't stop to sell Champions one by one. That's the problem!

We’ll be deploying an update on 15.03.2018 that includes a new Instagib mode, Ranked 2v2 Team Deathmatch mode, a bunch of Champion and weapon balance changes as well as a ton of new cosmetics for our Spring Celebration! We estimate the update process will take place from 10AM EST - 2PM EST (2PM GMT to 6PM GMT).



Instagib is a fun, casual mode

In Instagib mode, every shot is a one-hit kill. Players start with the railgun and gauntlet, and there are no weapon, health, armor, or powerup pickups. Champions can use active and passive abilities, and cooldown hourglasses spawn on the map


2v2 TDM is a ranked mode where teams of two players face off

First team to reach 50 kills or the team with the most kills after 15 minutes expires wins


No Abilities

Ranked Play Updates

SR is now displayed on Ranked Nameplate
SR is now displayed in Profile/Main Menu
Rank icon hidden in unranked matches
Player level is hidden from other players in Quick Play

Play Incentives

Tim Willits talks about Quake's next patch, new players, and what characters would be fun to add to id's arena FPS.

This Thursday, one of my favorite shooters is adding one of my favorite modes: instagib, the railguns-only, one-hit-kill format made popular in '90s arena FPSes like Unreal Tournament. Instagib is a great fit for Quake Champions' speedy movement. I loved the simplicity of it when I played on Champions' test server last week, seen in the clips in this article. There's plenty of intensity, but it's also an invitation to turn your brain off a little, level the playing field, and not worry about competing for powerups and pickups.

More's on the way in the March 15 update: 2v2 ranked team deathmatch, a 'no abilities' custom game mode for players who want the purest Quake possible, and some fresh, spring and Easter-themed cosmetics. I called up id studio director Tim Willits to chat about the near term changes coming to Champions, and on id's approach to making its skillful FPS accessible to newcomers without sacrificing the spirit of Quake.

PC Gamer: What's the appeal of instagib in 2018?

Tim Willits: One of the great things about instagib is it’s a single shot, a single kill. Everybody can get frags. Players don’t mind getting killed. What they mind is not getting frags. They want to get their kills. And one of the fun things about Quake Champions is that we have active abilities for all the champions. On its surface, you may say, “Well, that’s not going to be fair [in instagib].” Galena can throw out a totem and it can kill somebody. Keel can throw a grenade and it can kill somebody. But that’s actually the really fun part of it. We’ve played instagib without abilities and it wasn’t as much fun. You have these abilities that really add a lot of fun, over the top excitement to a really simple game mode. You spawn in, you get the rail, you run around and shoot.

And I know when you say everyone has a rail and it’s one shot one kill, it makes people worried. "Well, I’m not very good. That may be too much for me." But the exact opposite is true, because everybody can click the button and shoot. You will hit somebody, and especially with the abilities. Like Keel. Just throw some grenades out and hit somebody and you’ll kill them. It’s actually a ton of fun.

How do you continue to make Quake Champions welcoming for newcomers while keeping its DNA as a high-skill game in tact?

Your question is the big question. That’s the thing we’re most focused on. Because yes, you’re right. The wide range of players that games need to appeal to today is very vast … When we first announced the game, that we were going to have abilities, and people were freaking out—but everyone was like, “Yep, this is good, we’re happy with this, we can see this, we understand the meta.” We have the hardcore Quake players. One of the reasons that we’re still in Early Access is we’re working on ways to help everybody else into the game. And of course a game mode where you can jump in and run around and shoot people [instagib] is a step in that direction. That’s not the whole step. Doing things like some spawn protection, some help system stuff, that’s there. But we are working on a—for lack of a better description, a new player experience. It’s still kind of early. We’re still kind of figuring out exactly what that is, so I don’t want to get into it too much.

But we understand that if we’re to be successful, we need to make Quake as inviting as it can to new people. Because once you fall in love with Quake you’ll love it forever. But to get over that initial barrier, sometimes it’s challenging. We’re working hard to make it as easy as possible. That’s, like I said—the game modes that are easier to play, changes to the champions and balancing them to make them more accessible—for instance, we added an acceleration to some of the champions that can get you up to top speed without having to strafe jump. Now, the pros already strafe jump, and they never knew that we added it. But the people that can’t strafe jump as well can still get up to that speed. They’re like, “Whoa, this is nice, this feels good, this feels like I can compete.” It’s game modes. It’s systems like that. And then we are working on something that can help feed people in that we hope to finish and that would be a great way to exit out of early access.

One way of doing that might be getting more Bethesda characters into Champions. You've got B.J. Blazkowicz in there. Who's next?

We are in a very unique position in the Bethesda family to leverage some of the greatest IP in the video game industry today. We do have things planned. I don’t want to announce anything. But we’re very fortunate to have some really cool characters from all the games that we work with. And the great thing is, the other studios and the other teams have been really supportive and encouraging.

It’s really been kind of fun, in the Bethesda family, to talk to the guys about which champion we should get in, and their active abilities. Everyone has some cool ideas. “Oh, it would be fun if this guy did that. It would be fun if she did this!” So yes, look forward to it. We’re really excited. And we still have a lot of great champions that exist in the Quake franchise that will soon be making their way into the game as well.

Completely unrelated: who owns Commander Keen in 2018?

Ah, that’s us. That’s still id Software. We’ve actually talked a lot about Keen and what his active ability would be. Who would you like to see? In the whole Bethesda family, who would you like to see and what should their active ability be?

...The Dragonborn?

With dragon shout. Oh, yeah. People would die if we put that in. For me, Corvo and Emily are good characters because they already have so many different abilities. It would be hard to pick which one would work well. But we have Nyx already. Emily has her Blink, which is really cool. It’s tough to figure out. But yeah, there are some cool characters that we have in the Bethesda family.

Will Quake Champions leave Early Access this year?

Probably? Again, I honestly don’t know, because I want to make sure everything is as good as it can be. Remember, we leave Early Access and everyone jumps in the pool. We want to make sure that when people jump in the pool, the pool is correct. It’s hard to say. But that’s definitely what I’m targeting.

Moving QC to a more control-based game (10 comments)

Despite the additions to QC, I find it shallower than previous Quake games namely due to reduced importance of control and positioning. Here I'll address only control and only duel.

Champions restrict play styles. Never before Quake Champions would I have thought to say to a competent player, "That play style is wrong."

The solution: replace three-champion select with classic Quake--control. Champions are now items on the map that also double as spawn points. Like any other item, simply walk over the champion to exchange and become it. After each death, you choose a champion not worn by your opponent.

Champions as items solves the problem of restrictive play style, allowing players to change champions without having to give up a frag. It also solves the archaic problem of random spawns, putting the spawn decision in the hands of the player.

Secondly, abilities are "free," meaning that only time is necessary. Your opponent cannot control the readiness of your ability; he can only influence it, which is not Quake.

Once again, the solution is control. Abilities require X hourglasses to become activated. This begets a new mega item, a giant clock that immediately grants the ability.

These changes are not so drastic that they are too late to implement, yet their subtlety is enough to dramatically deepen the game.

There are implementation details I didn't cover for the sake of brevity. Regardless, the implications are exciting and dynamic. Reverting to the design roots of Quake, id can have their champions idea, and we can have our 10/15 minutes of depth back.

Even with these changes, QC still wouldn't be my cup of tea, but I would finally respect it. Discuss.

It developed by New Zealand Indefatigable on Unreal Engine 4 and published by Australia New Blood Interactive, known for developing of DUSK. CPMA cnq3 issues & disabling unwanted features (36 comments)

first off i want to make it known that i do appreciate the effort that went into making the cpma engine, and the flexibility it gives users over ioq3 in regards to customization.

it may seem otherwise due to my increasing anger with what's going on here, but i'm just extremely frustrated and have lost quite a bit of sleep trying to make this run properly.

however i am only using cpma as a means to an end, to get around ioq3's lack of custom hud support, and lack of cpma/reflex movement physics. i am working on a quake champions-like mod for q3, and i need a more versatile engine that i can customize. and i'm not a coder and don't have the skill to write an engine specifically for my mod, and i know of no other engine that allows for cpm movement and a flexible hud.

my specs, to rule out me having a crappy system::
-i7 2600k clocked at 4.5 cooled by corsair h50
-gtx 1060 6gb @ 2100 blower
-16gb ddr3 hyperx fury dual channel

in cpma there are quite a few issues that i feel need addressed.
first off, there doesn't seem to be any modern implementation of ioq3's new renderer, or ogl drivers that comes with the install, as none are present in the zip. this makes me wonder how, in 2018, this is not a feature but ioq3 has already addressed it. why?

this mod seems to be directed toward multiplayer server hosted gameplay, however that definitely isn't entirely disclosed, but the mod behaves that way, i say this due to the intense frame dropping when running renderer-heavy graphics in sp scenarios where i'm loading multiple bots. hell, even with just one bot it lags straight to hell. this is extremely frustrating, especially since ioq3 stays pegged at 144 running the exact same baseq3.

this "pro mode" concept seems to invoke the idea that making things easier to see makes you a better player.
..i've disabled that so that player models show their actual skins, i couldn't be more oppositional toward this, as being able to hit darker targets actually makes you more op, because it's harder.
however i do like that users have the ability to change it to their preference.

and a few features that i really dislike, and would like to disable asap:

1) those semi transparent spawn points. they are useless to me, and consume resources. they aren't present in q3, and i definitely don't need anything showing me where players spawn, because i don't care.

2)whatever is overriding the grenades and their smoke trail from my hd pak files. i cannot stand these cpma grenades and smoke trail, i'm completely fine with the grenades i want, not the cartoonish grenades that cpma thinks i should be forced into using.

3)the rocket launcher smoke trail. same situation as above, in my hd pak files, the rl smoke trail looks realistic, and i really like it. whereas in cpma, it looks cartoonish and fake, i cannot stand it, but i cannot figure out how to make it go away.

4)no true widescreen support for 16:9 aspect. come on guys, it's 2018, and even ioq3 (which you claim to be superior to) has addressed this years ago with the 4k version whcih utilizes the new renderer.

5)cpma lightning. i had to actually copy the images over to the z-cpma-pak150.pk3 to keep it from overriding my preferred lightning color, which is green with the green energy at the tip of the beam.

6) stop making cpma dominant over pk3 files, make it load and behave like a normal ioq3 client in this regard. if you have a pk3 file that contains identical filenames, then that pk3 file should override cpma. it makes it a huge pain in the ass sorting out why your preferred items aren't loading the way you want them to as they simply do in ioq3. if there was an ioq3 with customizable huds and cpm movement, i'd just use it, but their isn't.

7)stop forcing users to use your bot code, or at least give them the option to use baseq3 bot code instead. there really is no need for them, they don't perform well. they do stupid things like stand in one spot until you get close to them. they definitely do not perform the same as pak0.pk3 bots. even my add-in bots to stupid things, but they don't in ioq3.
i ended up deleting every model and botfile from the cpma pak BEFORE i found out there was a command to do the obvious (disable forcing player models), which definitely wasn't obvious and i only found that after hours of research and stumbled across it. this should be an option in the menu, along with many other things that should be options in the menu. if there's one thing that's annoying about the quake community, it's this false ideology that you're special because you do everything from a terminal, which is nonsense because the same thing can simply be accomplished by adding those features to the menu. life is short, let's not make it take any longer than necessary. yes i know how to use the terminal, however it's just a means to an end since certain commands are not in submenu's.

8)the main menu logo image. can you please make the engine so it supports widescreen images? it's not 2006 anymore, it would be nice to simply swap in a 1920x1080 image and not have it stretch to some archaic aspect ratio. example is uploaded in this rant.

9)please fix this annoying restriction against using .png files. it's really nice when the .png files in my pk3's that i'm using as medals show up with a clear background in ioq3. however, it's quite angering when they show up with black backgrounds in cnq3.

10)please for the love of god fix the 3d attacker icon issue. hud editors want to display the image in 3d, just like vanilla q3, but for some odd reason, cpma just refuses to do so no matter what i try.

the way i see it, if there's a client out there that is more geared toward what i want, will an experienced person who understand my concerns please kindly point me in the right direction?????
or if promode cares, address these issues.

So, I made this thread to know more about rapha's playstyle, his strenghts, his weaknesses, his settings and what makes him so good at quake overall.
I will give you my opinion on this subject, but I want your opinions too. Let's all contribute to this thread please :), thank you.

Here we go.

Razer Abyssus v2, 800dpi, 500hz, 20cm/360°, default small + crosshair (the white one with black outlines), FOV 116/126? (116 = 100 @QL; 126 = 110 @QL), 144hz 144fps cap.

- outsmarting most of his opponents
- always getting the best positions to make aiming easier for him and harder for his opponents, and to always give rooms to escape a potential fight loss, or give rooms to finish off an opponent that tries to escape a lost fight attempt; or even to be first on a major item
- items timings, near to perfection, to the second and that with multiple items (mainly the major ones)
- decisions making, always making the best possible decisions, like going from a point A to B for example, 5 steps ahead of most of his opponents, very calculated decisions, nothing random, most of his decisions can give him an advantage over most of his opponents
- knows very well to both play in control and out of control
- god-tier dodges, along with cooller and cypher, but using them in a pretty different way/style than them
- experience, lots and lots of quake experience

- raw aim not at the level of toxjq, xron, raisy, clawz or even DaHaNG
- sometimes tends to overthink, while the opponent can just make a rather stupid move and surprise him
- gives too much respect to some of his opponents, making him lose some confidence, making him play too cautiously at time
- tendency to think about quake like if it were chess, sometimes forgets that combat-skills alone can make a difference, sometimes not relying to them enough (because his combat-skills are underrated)
- needs more time to adapt to different playstyles than most of the pros, too used to cypher cooller and DaHaNG playstyles
- have a tendency to adapt to his opponents playstyles rather than imposing his own playstyle and force the opponents to adapt to that instead

BEST WEAPONS (in order of effectiveness):
1°) RL (god-tier)
2°) RG (top-tier)
3°) LG (good)

1°) NG/SNG/PLASMA (top-tier)
2°) SSG/SG (excellent)
3°) HMG/MG (good)


With all that said, I'm curious about how he would describe himself, how he would rate himself. I remember at some rather old interview that he described cooller as a boa constrictor/pacman, but what does he thinks about himself ?

What do you guys think about rapha ? Is his aim underrated ? Is he really THAT smart ? What made him so successfull at quake according to you guys ? Do you like his playstyle ? According to you guys, is he worth to take inspiration from, or are players like toxjq for example much more worth it ?

Americans may rejoice as we introduce the Americas Promode Conference exclusively designed for North and South Americans. Games have started as of Sunday, March 11 2018, as our brave thirty-two (wait... read that one more time. You read that right!) American players prepare to face off for the next three weeks against their counter parts. Some of the heavy hitting names include Canada gellehsak, Canada Kwong-Lo, and United States of America vedmedik.

Today the fifth season of the Afreeca TV StarCraft League (ASL) in competitive Starcraft: Brood War has begun. Games of the Ro24 Group A were played at 05:00 CDT.

The return of ASL marks the second season of play in StarCraft: Remastered and you’ll be able to enjoy every minute of the action on the English stream:

ASL Season 5 will run for ten weeks, with games scheduled every Tuesday and Sunday at the Freecup Studio. The round of 24 will be held as a single elimination dual tournament. The twelve players that emerge victorious from the round of 24 will be joined by the top four finishers from ASL Season 4 in the round of 16 for Season 5. The round of 16 will also feature the single elimination dual tournament format, while the semifinals and finals will be best-of-five, single elimination.

The round of 24 will take till the end of march. See the schedule linked below.

I'm trying to create a hud for cpma.
I've tried creating my own, and using others' as templates.
however, I'm having a serious issue with the hud system.

I cannot get it to behave like vanilla q3 and simply display my player icon, and my attacker icon in 3d, like it does in vanilla q3.

this is extremely annoying and frustrating, and I've spent hours grinding away at it to no avail.
the only option that I've found, which is absolutely retarded, is that I have to specify which head md3 and skin file to use, which upon doing do displays the players head icon in 3d.

however, this means I have to create a different fucking hud for each player I use. this cannot be right, it cannot be thats stupid of a design.. original vanilla q3 even does this, so with the advanced features of cpma, how could this limitation be overlooked or even possible?

I'm in the process of creating a quake champions style hud for my cpma build, but I can't do anything at all with a hud that won't display my player model and my attacker model as anything but a 2d icon. unless I'm just inexperienced with editing, the way it works seems downright stupid ass hell.

so what am I doing wrong???
I find it hard to believe that I'm not doing anything wrong and that the hud system is that stupid, so please if anyone can help I really need it. Of course I've already been all over google and there's nothing to be found.

I'm good on everything else, and have everything how I want it mostly, but I'm stuck at this 3d model issue.

the image shown is basically the hud I've been trying to copy, but it's for quake live. I've got all the assets from QC:DE hud that are identical to QC to work with so I'm good there.

There is possibility to report a cheater in QC during the match:

1) During the match press Escape to open in-game menu and then press Social button

2) Make a right mouse click on the suspicious player and then select Report User

3) Select the reason Cheating/Exploitation, type the description and press Submit button

It will send a report directly to the developers.

Hello. I'm having a problem with my setup. I have an old crt monitor in which by using CRU, I made an interlaced resolution to push the refresh rate to 160 hz. This work when I was using AMD graphic card. But now that I upgrade to 750ti, when I tried to use the same method(using CRU), All of the games work fine except D3D games like CSGO. When I tried to launch the game it failed to lauch and the error "failed to create D3D device" popup. I have tried other games and can confirmed that indeed, this problem only occurs in D3D games. I am trying to fix it right now and any help would be appreciate. Thank you.

The sign-ups for ql Quake Live TDM 4v4 Spring Season are open from Sunday 4th March 2018 until Sunday 25th of March 2018.

The League start will be Monday 2nd of April, duration depends on the sign-ups (1 match per week). Division 1 plays Monday at 20:00 CET, Division 2 Tuesday at 20:00 CET, Division 3 Wednesday at 20:00 CET.

For the last few weeks QC has been unplayable for me.
I kinda made a decision to stop playing today because I was fed up and gstructor mentioned GGPO/FIGHCADE.

So I started playing that, and guess what, I had lags there too.

Smelling a rat I decided to look around, pc is all fine, but my router was lying on the floor, sideways, off its stand, tbh its been like that way for ages as it does not stand naturally due to a short cable.

Anyway I look into the router logs and it says something about operation temp high, so I'm like ahh ok, because I know over heating is a killer for any hardware.

Stand it up as normal and it goes a lot cooler, loaded up champs and first game in ages just happened to run pretty well with none of the grinds I been having.

I don't believe that was a coincidence. I also turned the router back on and off, but just a little reminder to myself and others.

If all else fails, check your router is well ventilated or not fallen down and it won't do you any harm to turn it off, and flush out the DNS via dos either if you want to

ipconfig /flushdns

I'll edit my recent posts complaining of this and link back to this post as I'm now convinced this was the problem.

After more than a thousand matches worth of testing, countless amounts of changes made and even a few cups, the SushiFlex ruleset is slowly approaching its final version. March is shaping up to be a busy month, as the SushiFlex team and community members are hosting yet another series of tournaments for both the Europe EU and United States of America NA regions to celebrate the advancements in the development of the ruleset - this time with a combined prize pool of €320 with donations open to the public as well as plenty of SharqCoins to be divided between the two regions!

In addition to tournaments, United States of America dog is also organizing a mapping competition to get new maps out and tested with judging done by some great mappers such as Germany def and Denmark promEUs!

Upcoming Cups

Starting on March 4th, the folks at SushiFlex are hosting six different tournaments, each with their own unique style and format. All regions and skill levels are encouraged to sign up and play, so check them out!

Reflex Monthly Cups #4 & Custom Ruleset 2 tournaments (No comments)

Reflex Monthly Cups has announced that a new ruleset initiative for community feedback and testing will be conducted next month. Therefore the fourth rotation of the Reflex Arena Monthly Cups will be slightly delayed. It will be played on the CR2 ruleset this April. On top of that, there will also be three others tournaments : a 2v2 tournament and two duel cups for both Oceania and East Asia regions. As always, players of any skill level and any region are welcome and encouraged to compete in every cup. Each of them is limited to 32 participants, so register early!

Alex Garland, the guy behind 28 Days Later (writer), Sunshine (writer), Dredd (writer), and Ex Machina (writer/director) just released Annihilation (based on the book by Jeff VanderMeer). It's definitely one of the most surreal/dreamlike movies I've seen but the ending missed the mark I think. Maybe needs multiple viewings to fully appreciate it, though.

So, the next patch should be in march?!
What are the things you want to be changed?

Id like to have the following changes:

- More DMG for rail, since health for was increased, maybe 95 DMG without zoom, and yeah delete the fucking increased dmg in zoom, just doesnt make any sense at all (also for mg)
- Less DMG for nailgun, maybe 25% less
- Less health for Keel and Visor, maybe 25 HP less
- More Health for Anarki, maybe 20 HP more

So, as long time fan of Quake series, here are my thoughts on why QC failed and why almost no one plays it compared to other games. I know some of you guys wont agree with me, but we all have right on our own opinion.

1) adding champions to fps arena game was a bad idea - SyncError was under impression (and maybe still is) that this will work, so he presented it to his bosses as a great idea as moba games and overwatch (which is childrens fps game with extremely big budget and dev team behind it) have champions/heroes and those game are popular at the moment and they thought it will work. Than, after an release of the game, in totally unprepared alpha state, they presented champions to the audience, everyone was shocked, players played few matches and people started to abandon the game, why? Because champions idea doesnt work in Quake setting. Makes game random, inconsistent, too easy to avoid fights and earn cheap, no satisfaction, no skill frags for players and audience. Yes, it added something new to Quake, but it didnt work - current number of amateur players says that...and I dont want to talk about pros who practically dont play this game anymore unless there is some money involved, which sucks, they will only play it to earn money, abandon it and than come back again when there will be another tournament with money prizes. But, remember good times when pros played Q3 and QL all the time even if there were no tournaments with big money around. What does that mean? It means everyone enjoy and played the best fps game ever = Q3/QL in which there were no champions, everyone had equal opportunity, it all came down to talent and skill of the player, there were no champions which will give you advantage of getting cheap frag or running away at 5000 mph speeds...or getting invisible every 25 sec or so hahah. It will be impossible to balance champions properly and it will be even above impossible to do it right when they add more champions, which will only increase variable for error which will lead to total player frustration. Champions are only frustrating players and playerbase, deal with it. This is the core problem of the game.

2) hiring a development team with no talent and skill - so, id/Beth gave an chance to some no name dev team to work on game with almost no budget invested in it, bad combo. Why they didnt had a proper budget for it? Because some big manager noticed or had a hunch that this game wont work. And what did players get? An total mess of a code, game lagged in every possible way, be it graphics, net code, game balance, various bugs (QuakeCon 17 winner exploited wonderful LG bug in each match to earn some nice cash, that never happened in any game tournament before, so sad...), glitches, bad sound engine, no proper matchmaking, etc etc. Than we come to slow development, it was extremely slow in the beginning and now its almost nonexistent. No new content, no new maps, no proper anticheat, no new classic mods, nothing. Even when new patch arrives, it fixes 1 thing but destroys 15000 other things. No further comment on this.

3) round based duel - would love to meet this person who came up with this idea and try to understand what was in his head when he/she came up with this idea. This soooo doesnt work properly, he/she turned an action packed classic Quake duel which was filled with adrenaline and blood rush till last second to an impotent weak little mod that favors hiding and not confronting an enemy at all...its boring, useless, not practical, totally antiQuake ideology.

4) forcing an crap mod as a main mod for the game (Sacrifice) - this game mod is definitely one of the worst I have seen in my life, terrible to play and even worse to watch. Again, bad execution and bad idea, totally not fun - add champions to it and your have big pile of mess. Proof - pros only played it because of money, no one plays it anymore. Cant understand how could someone think this will be better than freeze tag or capture the flag?

5) sound engine - how can someone use this low quality type of sound engine in a game where using sound queues as a main tool for fighting and positioning is one of the most important things? Current sound engine is so bad that its almost impossible to pin point from where does enemy come from and from where someone shots at you. Those two components are one of the most necessary ones for an arena fps game, but they are not there. Even Q3/QL with its ancient sound engine fulfills those two components better.

6) adding loot and packs - only little children are interested in that type of stuff! If they focused more on proper development instead of adding such stupid ideas to game, we might have been somewhere with it at this moment, but no...they had to add loot and packs to this game to make interesting...not...

7) no community dev tools - what made Q3/QL also great was an ability for community to make maps for it, there is bunch of talented guys out there who could do wonders...but id/beth/sabre decided its better for Quakes future not to add that option and use closed source Maya tools to make maps for the game. Great move, respect!

8) no CTF/InstaGib/FT - they decided not to add those 3 most played mods in history of arena fps games to QC because they thought Sacrifice is better. Well done!

9) no anti cheat sw - cheaters infested QC 2 days after its release...says enough...

10) devs not listening to community - I believe this is self explanatory...why would they listen to community? why? No comment...

You guys can agree or disagree with me, but this is my opinion on QC. This game will never be famous and good as Q3/QL was. QC is total miss and nothing will save it. It will never gain more than 400-500 concurrent players in next few years and the reasons why are above.

QC should have been and QL HD - ultra cool graphics (new id tech engine), same movement engine, no champions, a bit improved sound engine, new maps, new content, classic mods (classic duel, tdm, ctf, instagib, ft), anticheat sw, ladder - leagues, proper matchmaking, community tools, some tutorials...and game would have thrived with old school players and newcomers.

These are sad days for Quake community. We have been waiting on proper new Quake game for ages...and what did we get? An robot which flies around map, skinny girl which goes invisible whenever there is a reason to fight, a drug addict which gives himself an shot, a skate girl which leaves disco trails, lizard which is sick and spits bacteria around???? This is not Quake!!!

The sign-ups for ql Quake Live TDM 4v4 Spring Season will be open from Sunday 4th March 2018 until Sunday 25th of March 2018.

The League start will be Monday 2nd of April, duration depends on the sign-ups (1 match per week). Division 1 plays Monday at 20:00 CET, Division 2 Tuesday at 20:00 CET, Division 3 Wednesday at 20:00 CET.

Check below for all needed informations and sign-up! If you already have player and clan account on House of Quake, feel free to sign-up right away. Otherwise make sure to register yourselves and your clan first.

The tournament will last for three days - 26/27/28 February. Each day, a certain number of stages is played out, depend of number of participants (the schedule will be formed the day before the tournament - 25.02)

it seems that he is playing Reflex these days recently participating in some of the cups. unsurprisingly, hes shot towards the top of the scene, competing with the established reflex guys like Rama and kyto etc.

hey there

I dislike most new mice cause of shape, too little pressure to click (= accidentally clicks in stressful situations) and bad thumb button placement/design (= accidently pushes).

I think this may be the best mouse for me but im not sure about thumb buttons.
The shape is almost identical to wmo (wmo 124 x 66,6 x 39,6 and revel 125 x 68 x 39mm).
The omron switches should give the perfect pressure for mouse1/2 butttons.
Its lightweight and got a perfect sensor (3360).

Its not the cheapest but its not as expensive as Logitech mice ore other "top" gaming brands (approx 40€).

Anyone got one and can tell his experience? Im especially interessted what you think about those thumb buttons.
