If you think about it, it's logical. In the last 9 years, they think we are utterly stupid ---> they have to repeat the same bs again and again, hoping that someday it will come across.
Seems your brain is like swiss cheese, so no wonder why you won't remember something that was said only a few days ago - let alone whether you played QL beta or not back then.
You dismiss someone's opinion on the basis that he played the game too much (according to you)
Like, you can't even understand how desperately retarded you sound.
So much so, you don't even probably need a compensation of any sort to shill so hard for this game.
You're probably doing it because pressing "F" with scalebearer is the first time since playing quake that you actually manage to kill someone, sometimes.
Seems like on this forum bashing QC is the standard acceptable behaviour which gets you easy [+]'s but on the contrary if you happen to challenge some of stuff you're the devil.
You completely missed the irony I'm pointing at, and try to come up with your own stuff.
He said it was the worst game ever made, a disgraceful piece of shit, and that those play it lack self-respect and pride. Turns out he actually played 1,500 games on it, far from just a couple of games because he hated it.
On top of that he goes to a QC thread to sarcastically say he can't wait for the lags, but he doesn't even play it anymore. lol
I'm not even "shilling the game", that's how butthurt you guys are because someone doesn't just F1 to everything you say.
ps: I don't play scalebearer and my ability button is not F :(
#1 - it's not idsoftware making the game, the game is out-scourced. the "real" idsoftware are making doom2016+doomEternal. and look at that game - it could've been quake
#2 - it's not the shittiest map, if you look at it from a different perspective. it's a lovely map for 1v1 instagib
A QW map played by a handful of people in QW but at thousands of cups in Q3. Ztn and Aerowalk are both way more associated with Q3 than QW, because they were way more played in Q3 than in QW.
Oh great logic, that means aerowalk is a QL map. Cut the gender bullshit, you can associate it with my little pony along with the rest of the world, it's still a QW map.
No, because aerowalk's popularity started in Q3. Not in QW, not in QL.
ztn wasn't included in the game and back in the day no one played. No one outside maybe 10,000 people in the world associates it with Q1.
For example, do you think toxicity is a Q3 or QL map? Because it was made for Q3 but it wasn't featured in any single cup before being used in QL. Q3 players didn't associate it with Q3 because no one played it.
That aerowalk's popularity started in q3 sounds like bullshit. I'd love to hear from qw players, especially as my impression of you has never been that you are one, even if you've played it.
But regardless, pukka3tourney2(slave name 'toxicity') is a CPM map. Just like phrantic(aka cpm24) is a CPM map, even if it became popular for you through Q4. Just like dm6 is a Q3 map, even if you're a UT player.
aerowalk and ztn was always popular in the qw scene. tournament organisers though were very careful whether to include "africa maps" to the main leagues and tournaments or not, because some players were against it and wanted the vanilla maps only. after some time it got accepted pretty much everywhere but the map always was popular and played in duels, ffa,etc ....
Can't you even comprehend that those so called Q3 maps wouldn't even exist if they hadn't been created for QW in the first place ?
Also you randomly and very subjectively decide that a map isn't popular enough in its original version, therefore that version becomes irrelevant.
Where do you even draw the line ?
That's like saying Knockin' on heaven's door is a song written by Guns n' Roses just because it's more popular (I'm not saying it is) than Dylan's original version
I've read some posts of yours full of warped logic but this is reaching a new level
i dont care about new maps, but could they buff DarkKnight a little bit? His ability is dealing 150-250hp in one mouse click and thats not fair, must be 500-750hp.
Good idea. Maybe I should commend him for his job and ask if we can get a new champion who insta kills enemies by just looking at them. All this left-click pressing to insta kill got my finger tired.
So people asking for a map that's actually more of a FFA / TDM map and by coincidence played as CA, and you answer by saying that it's a piece of shit map for CA and there are better CA maps in QL?
Why even talk about CA maps when QC doesn't have CA (yet)?
Prolly because it requires the less investment in terms of brain power and skills. Not even flaming, just stating the fact: it's the most "convenient" mode after instagib DM.
One of the dumbest maps ever. Three floating platforms, it could be a Smash Bros arena. And it only took 4 months to code!
Don't get me wrong, longest yard has great nostalgic value.
But it's a dumb dumb map, terrible for ffa and useless for anything else.
It's not like we have an abundance of playable maps. We're actually starving.
Right now there are like 5 playable maps for deathmatch or team deathmatch. It got stale months ago.
Every new map somehow takes months for the programmers, even when it's small and empty like molten falls, so it'll be november or december before we get a possibly decent new map.
if only there would be a way to speed that up, if only there would be a community of mappers that are creating maps for all quake's and its iterations since years, if only...
imho, quake 4's maps were fucking amazing, such a nice flow to them all, yeah some things would need to change due to jumps being made while sliding.
Lostfleet, Galang and Placebo effect were so good.
I guess though, if you have 1 person dedicated to map creation for QC, then obviously re-releasing maps over and over again removes that whole pressure of creating a worthy map.
However, if you look at 2 maps like Sinister and Battleforged from QLIVE - I like how those maps evolved when they switched up items and placements a bit.
We need this in QC maps, move items around, change pathings slightly etc.
Then again, that's too much hard work for one person.
QC is a Q3 remake with abilities and using an engine made for consoles. That's all it is.
The "new" game has the same maps (now with three of the most played maps in Q3), the same weapons (out of the "heavy" weapons only the disruptor doesn't come from Q3), the same gameplay (only clutch and slash don't move like Q3 chars), the same gametypes (since Sacrifice was removed literally all gametypes were present in Q3), and the same characters and art style (90% of them).
They do that because it's cheaper to remake stuff and to hire a Russian studio. Well and also allows for a potential console release in case, as stated by Tokyo this week.
Problem is though people start making comparisons, and so QC ended up being disliked by the Q3 guys (people here) and by new fans (getting destroyed by Q3 players that essentially had 20 years of advantage).
I think the only new map that's actually decent is Ruins. The rest range from mediocre (Vale) to bad (Lockbox). The reason is quite obvious: 1/3 of the resources/time put into mapping went to remakes instead of into making new maps.
And it's also a shame they are only using Q3 as inspiration to remake stuff. The best FFA and CTF maps are from Q2, many would say the best duel map is from vanilla Q1, and actually Q4 has amazing maps too. The main FFA map in Q4 (open one with like three jumppads to launch grenades into them) was just way better than q3dm17.
